Not sure it's the first D999, there have been unofficial 'linked with' stories in TRP involving Sarries & various Jersey Reds players for at least a couple of months. Mind you, one of those mentioned (winger Leroy van Dam) has since officially joined a French ProD2 club, while another has been 'linked with' no fewer than 3 clubs in the English 'top 13'...

All good potential signings, but we'll see if they come off, and I'd rather have Jordy Reid back.

I think the scary thing is clubs and players agreeing contracts when they don't know when they will play again.
Its a very positive move and I hope its a good move but if there is a second wave of C19 what will happen to our sport

I don’t suppose it’s any different to a business taking on new staff when they don’t know when they will re-open. They need to be prepared for when it does happen.

As I said elsewhere you need to plan to have a side if there is a season.
And plan for there not being a season.
Who would be a club treasurer.

 Maire23,

I know you're a Nottingham supporter, have you any news for us? From what I've heard the majority of the lads are refusing to sign a part-time contract!

Afraid not Shush but from what you’re saying I am really not surprised. Have spoken to a few other people and they have said that there’s a lot of unhappy people there. I do know that next season will probably essentially be the NTU team running out for us and from that I gathered that there would be many departures. I’ve heard rumours about Tigers sniffing round a few (Williams has been mentioned more than once and possibly Spittle) and how Jonah Holmes has gone they might well be in the market for a couple of pacey wingers. I don’t know anything concrete though- it’s all just gossip and reading into the interviews that have put out in public.

Agreed Camquin just wondering if all the new signings contracts have some form of caveat if C19 gets worse and there is no rugby

I would say it would be very foolish for any club to commit itself to contracts for the future without caveats to cater for this.

Rugby Paper states that Jack Spittle of Nottingham has signed for Doncaster Knights. Will be a massive loss but not so much of a surprise.

If true, it's a big signing for us

No- I hadn’t heard that. I only knew about Jack Spittle as it was in the Rugby Paper. That and some of the Premiership forums are my only source of information at the moment!

Josh Poullet is not joining Doncaster Knights.

Did Shush confirm JP was staying?

The signing thread used to be for done-deals, but now it’s ‘relaxed’ to gossip/rumours, some of which come to pass while others don’t...

Not joining the Knights, doesn't necessarily mean staying
