Matt Williams has left Chinnor along with Ricky Khan this week, they are both joining London Scottish for the 20/21 season
Dan George  the head forwards coach went some weeks ago.
Several players have also left this week and agreed deals with London Scottish for next season, including Nick Selway

This was published in The Rugby Paper last Sunday. Simon Vickers has been the main sponsor of Chinnor for the last 6 years

From memory, I think The sponsor was a construction firm - possibly hard hit by the virus?

However having got where they are by spending big it is a bit rich now trying to enforce a swinging mandatory budget when presumably the money has gone.

So does that mean Scottish are possibly being bankrolled for a push next season?

I doubt it Robb. It probably means no more than that Scottish have a few quid more to spend than Chinnor who aren't happy about it.

Bankrolled to push to do what....to finish 2nd behind Saracens??? No club in their right minds will try to compete with Sarries (and that includes Ealing). Best to ride out the financial fall-out from the current pandemic and then hope to challenge 2021-22 if the Premiership have not closed the door by then.

I would suggest it is to ensure L Scots actually have a playing squad next season! All the Chinnor players are part time so assume currently have a job. All the L Scots players are full time therefore have no job. Who in London is giving out jobs at present for these players-not sure picking fruit or working in Asda will earn enough for London rents. Allows Williams and his players to play in a higher league without actually achieving it through results.

I'm not sure so sure Ealing can't overtake Saracens, a lot of loaned out players from them for next season, and players who will be missing due to internationals.....

One difference Scottish have is they'll have either £288,000 or £400,000 to spend from the RFU for next season. Chinnor on the other hand have no guareenteed income.

Saracens will have more than enough to top the league - even playing on plastic at Ealing won't worry them as obviously they have their own.

The only thing I see stopping them is the Virus

Chinnor's chairman has taken it upon himself to post in response to the thread in the National 1 board should that be of interest to anyone discussing here - http://rolling-maul.com/salary-cap-article_topic18384.html

Ha ha - what do you mean? LS do not have a sugar daddy who is prepared to pump millions into the club to finish second, season after season.

Next season in the Championship will be a procession for Saracens before a ball is even touched. Why waste significant sums of money for the pleasure of saying we came second to Saracens?

Don't the rules state that Saracens can't be promoted in 2020/2021

On the basis they would have to have complied with the salary cap for two consecutive seasons?

How would we know as they won't open their books?

Even if they did, I'd  fully expect this to be fudged and  once Saracens stroll the Championship, the drawbridge pulled up.

Clever move by Scottish if Williams can bring the best of the Chinnor players with him-a lot have Championship experience plus most of the Scottish players departing i assume as they will need to find a job, of which not many being offered at present. My only query is how does he explain to the Chinnor players that he sacked them before the season had been announced as ended, did not pay them the  money they were owed but now wants them to come and play for him at L Scottish?

Chinnor finished fourth in Nat One. How likely are these coaches and players to cut a swathe through the Championship?

Did he sack them? or was it the chairman?

Looking at their 1st XV, last season it was a mix of loan players and ex-championship guys. Will Harries,Nick Selway,Carl Kirwan all either played Champ or Prem rugby year before. I'd say their starting team was of Championship quality.
