Next Saturday's semi-final between England and South Africa. Can England get past the defending champions or will the Bok power through to the final?

South Africa 37 England 12. We don’t have a prayer. SA were phenomenal tonight. That France team is something else and the Springboks beat them, and beat them in their own backyard. We’ll get absolutely creamed.

Maybe S.A. will be drained both physically and emotionally from that awesome performance??
The phrase "After the lord mayor's show" springs to mind! England will play the underdog card very well and it may well suit them. Time will tell.

Most of the SA subs came on around the 40th and 50th minute, meaning some of their key players were already being rested in the second half.

Ah, but the way the Springbok coaches work, who are the key players? Used to be that Kitshoff came on for Nche, now it is the other way round. Is Pollard more key than Libbok? Possibly yes when you need a goal kicker in the last 20 minutes. And Fourie for Kolisi, that really surprised me. As many say, it is now a 23 man game at international level.

The use of HIA was clever too.
Vermeulen and DuToit both had HIAs and stayed off for the full 10 minutes. Really smart.

France lost due to a charged down conversion kick (assuming he would have converted it)
For what it’s worth, I think the South Africans will be mentally drained but still have enough to edge England out. They should then have sufficient time to recover and beat New Zealand in the final Fingers crossed Wayne Barnes gets the final |

England have their ways, they'll know what to do, they know the saffas will play their dirty tricks. All it takes for them is to show the maturity and game management they did in the last 5 minutes of the Fiji match and I think they could spring a surprise.

I don’t know what dirty tricks Robb is referring to with the Boks. I am tempted to say that England don’t stand a chance with the speed and ferocity South Africa, All Blacks, France and Ireland played at.
But they weren’t that rated 4 years ago and reached the final. So maybe

I searched Englands recent encounters with South Africa and surprisingly from the last five England have won 3 out of 5. Currently South Africa have brought an added ferocity into their attack and defence. It will be a tough call for England to match it.
I still believe England can win but they need to step up to the challenge.

Against all the odds and the naysayers I think England will win by 3-6 points. Defensive discipline and keeping 15 players on the pitch for the full game will be crucial but I think they can and will win it. Howay England make us proud to support you.
