Kendal to return to N1W.
From Kendal website. BACK TO THE WEST BY STEPHEN GREEN 8 HOURS AGO
We shall play in North 1 West next season The RFU have approved our return to North 1 West for next season. Both
President Arthur and I have lobbied hard to ensure our return to our natural
home, as one Club needed to join North 1 West to balance numbers. We made it clear from the moment that the season ended prematurely that
we wished to return to play in N1W. We had to wait for the RFU committees to
review the situation and ask other Clubs if they wanted to 'volunteer' before
the move was confirmed. I am sure members will be delighted to see the return
of local derbies with Penrith and Vale of Lune. At present, under lockdown, it is still unclear when and how the season
will begin, but fixtures should be published by the end of May. |

Lots of clubs are going to do very well through the Govt Business Grants. How many would have expected £25k to come into the accounts in the next few months?

With the UK's Chief Medical Officer warning that social distancing rules might have to remain in place for the rest of the year I think any club is going to require a rich benefactor or money in the bank if they want to spend any money, without taking a big gamble, except on absolute essentials such as pitch, clubhouse maintenance. It might make next season very interesting, if it ever starts, as players who expect a few quid for playing and move around on that basis may find that is no longer on offer. Where clubs fund coaches I presume they are furloughed and so can't do anything and some clubs who where changing coaches etc might find themselves without for a period as presumably you can not take on a new employee and furlough straight away.
This does not just apply to N1W but lots of clubs in level 6 and above.

They'll all be missed but go with good wishes at least from me. Back row we're absolutely swimming in lads, although tenev was first choice. Gosling was quality but missed more games than he played - hopefully that was just an unlucky season for him and he can get some luck with injuries next time out. Riley is a massive miss and all of a sudden the front row is looking in need of bodies. I guess we line up with Jenkins railton randa if they're all still around but need a starting prop

Big Kurt will be missed if true, he's better than he looks. Back row centre could be several with switching.Gosling. Good luck to them. [/QUOTE

I think a lot of clubs at 5 and 6 level will not afford to pay any money. If they ever did. So players will return to the clubs they played at for Mini and Juniors

What is the name of the Seven? If the other players we've had come over from loo in the past are anything to go by then he should fit right in. Our regular flanker had to hang up his boots earlier this season through injury, and his presence on the field will be sorely missed. This new lad will have some big boots to fill.

Sean Fletcher in as the new top man, I'm sure he will have an affect on recruitment, so whatever happens I'm sure we'll be in good shape come next season.

I know Liam Launders (prop) is moving on to Rossendale. They're getting a good lad there, he's been great for us over his five seasons, including a period where the club rallied around him. I believe it's more of a life choice over rugby as I think he live that way. As for others I couldn't tell you. I know we have two lads returning both back row, but nothing more. As hoppers said, you're the man in the know

Judging by recent news its not certain that games will start as planned next season.
Sensible clubs at all levels will be looking carefully at their options given the absence of revenue from ticket/beer/food/ venue hire etc and likelihood of sponsorship drying up. All clubs have grounds and clubhouses to maintain and long gone are the days when the members collectively came together to contribute. Any news on how players are responding - looking to move club at this time doesnt make much sense .

Looking across the leagues then there are some decisions it is hard not to argue against. e,g. Keswick I don't think had any realistic chance of avoiding relegation. But teams are separated by a fraction of a point and that makes a difference to promotion and relegation that really just looks lick of the draw

No problems with Burnage, best team all season, but when you look at the "points" it's decimals. I posted on the Prem thread about Sandal not being promoted, form team with most games against bottom 1/3 of the table to come... How does that work. Listen, I'm ok with it, I don't understand the decimals guys,. Apparently Northwich going to Midlands so level transfer might have something to do with it. Best of luck to Burn n Nwich next year & hopefully see a continuation/strengthened Loo team tear it up next season, whenever that may be.

It's a big leap up for either team...but in this case I'm going to applaud the RFU for coming to an early (and most sensible of all the available options) decision.
At least it gives all clubs the best chance of planning and preparing for next season
