Apparently comedian Jethro has died at the age of 73 after contracting Covid.  So why mention this here?   Because in a previous life, he made over 100 appearances at prop forward for Penzance and Newlyn RFC, now the Cornish Pirates, presumably under his actual name of Geoff Rowe.

RIP Jethro.

So, so sad. Propped against him once back in the late 70s which led to a few wonderful evenings as an unofficial roadie at the Four Burrows in Grampound Road, Cornwall. Safe journey, old friend.

Geoff Rowe was also one of the founder members of St Just RFC, the most south westerly club in the UK.
Jethro, gone but never to be forgotten.

Some of the bluest jokes I’ve ever heard and loved by the Duke of Cornwall.
What is the difference between a genealogist and a gynaecologist?

A genealogist looks up your family tree. A gynaecologist looks up your family bush!
