I would have thought that not naming names creates speculation as to who the players might be, which is actually less helpful - and more frustrating - than knowing nothing at all.  We all know that every club will lose some players and gain new ones to replace them, so in effect you're not actually telling us anything we don't already know.

I agree there's a bit of 'show-offery' in people posting stuff they know about (or have been told by sources, some of which are more reliable than others)... but at the same time fairly sanguine about it, transfer chat is what happens in online forums + social media + columns like the one in TRP. Occasionally gossip is malicious, but not usually.

Jersey Reds' main wave of signings completed today with 4 more permanent joiners: scrum-halves Toby Venner (Glos) & Jonny Law (Tiggers); fly-half Russell Bennett (Amps); centre Alex McHenry (Munster). Plus a loanee from Glaws - back rower Josh Gray

Islander, did Venner score against us at the Stade this season? I seem to remember them having a real live wire of a SH....or did I dream that?

Might be my imagination, but previous years we seem to have had little info from The Blues about signings. That it is mid June and we have this number of players confirmed is a pleasant surprise.

Looking forward to new beginnings.

If Jersey stay lucky with injuries they will be more than competitive with that squad - brilliant recruitment on a strong base. No pressure lads but that squad should entertain and can win a lot of games.

'Thanks for the names and detail. Any news on recruitment to replace this max exodus'

According to my mates lad; Parker, Jones and Trimble hardly played last season. Mitchell, AllHuckleberry and Schonert have retired on medical grounds and hardly played after November. Goble Robbins and Walters (going to Caldy) played predominantly 2nd team so one supposes they are looking for 1st XV rugby at their new clubs. Cardew and Hadfield after one year of development out of university have now gained full time contracts. Pre-season starts beginning of July with the new players introduced to their new team mates ahead of any public announcements- seems sensible.

All 3 of Parker, Jones & Trimble suffered bad or a series of bad injuries. Trimble pulling his hamstring in October away at Coventry. Played just a handful more 1st XV games when returning in January.
AllHuckleberry i believe is the name meant for AllHuckeberry got a very bad concussion at a training session.
Jones got injured in pre/season vs Scottish and didn't feature again, returning to squad training in April. Parker was injured in a Vikings vs Saxons game and like Jones didn't feature again.
Players that left mid-season include - Gratton (London Scottish), Attfield (Bury St Edmunds), Rouse (No Club), Dennett (Australia), Ball (Rugby League).

Mike Perks and Hugh Worthington have also left the club and gone to Australia. Imad Bouhedjour has also left the club and england after 4 years and returned back to France.

The number of contracts offered this season has been reduced to 30, as opposed to around 45 that were offered last season.
