Congrats to Esher on the title win + promotion; not sure many will argue that the best team has won over the course of the season.
Went to the game v Dorking yesterday, which was an excellent spectacle - both sides giving it a real crack. Dorking took a while to adjust to the high tackle 'line' and couldn't quite get enough points on board in 1st half. Battled back well in 3rd quarter but then outpowered in the last 20 - Esher had the wind and a bit more oomph off the bench. 11 out of 12 kicks landed on a breezy day. Good atmosphere with 1,415 in attendance (according to TRP) on a sunny day; they looked set for a good party when I left. Good seasons for both clubs: Dorking would be pretty happy with 3rd I sense, and could be 2nd if Esher finish with a win at Barnes.

Absolutely brilliant result for Eeeeeeeees today (50-28) over Dorking. Our defence, especially when we were a man down in the second half, was IMMENSE πππ. So pleased we wonβt be going to Barnes in a fortnight needing a win in the last match. Well done boys πππ, back in National 1 next year. A fitting promotion in our centenary year π.

so Esher remain in driving seat with battle at bottom for that 13th place still up for grabs, with Ionians, Billingham and Wimbledon all winning. Worthing not totally safe, although next weeks game Wimbledon v Worthing will clarify things a bit. Worthing play North Walsham in final game, which may provide a safety net. The Wombles probably need to win final two to escape

Agreed GJ, long weekends in Devon/Cornwall either early or late in the season were always a highlight.

Not for us guys in E Anglia....far rather head up the A1 than round the M25....but it goes with the territory, National League means travel....I miss our trips to Redruth, Barum, Dings and ofcourse Taunton...great times!

Same applies to their distances from Redruth. The main problem with travelling distances has always been the outlying nature of Cornwall. |

Fully understand Redted. Was just saying that Hinckley and Loughborough are a lot further away from Kent than Oxford, Henley and Havant.

Canterbury to Hinckley 168 miles Day trip Redruth to Hinckley 288 miles Overnight stay. Would have thought people in Kent would understand!

I think it is safe to safe, when you split level-4 into three, Redruth, Tynedale and Tonbridge will be put in different leagues.

Too sensible for the RFU. I may be wrong but I think the designation of East/West etc no longer applies |

I would have thought the Kent Clubs would have been delighted to avoid the western side of the M25 on Saturdays.

Oxford, Henley and Havant could all go west with Hinckley and Loughborough going east.
Makes more sense travel wise.

Oxford Quins have won R1Midlands (they were in South Central last year) and could arguably slot into any of the three leagues at L4.

The permutations are lengthy!
If Taunton and Cinderford come down then West has to lose a team. That would probably be Chester going North. If Wimbledon stay up then Havant and Colchester come in to East unless Bishops Stortford come down in which case Henley or Havant would have to go West with Chester still going North. And then .... zzzzzz Sorry, fell asleep looking at the combinations. I'll come back to it on 28th April!

If Wimbledon stay up, is there a chance that one of the current N2East Clubs will be moved sideways???
Henley sent West or possibly Havant??? And then what if B Stortford survive relegation, might we see a West side move in the oppo direction or would the two moves cancel out???

Yes - those 2 with same points, number of wins and draws - only separated by a Rizlaβs points difference (12pts in the northern teamβs favour as things stand)β¦
