What I think any match report from the Cov Donny game would show, and the tryligjts link provid by Kimbo would illustrate very clearly is that is not necessary to score all your tries from 5m lineouts.

I think they wanted to fill a few more column inches - but in essence the same story I.e. spanked

To be fair their website doesn't seem to feature match reports from any of their league games this season and I suppose it is unlikely they would start this week!

We have got a new comms manager who doesn’t seem to think that match reports are important- a major bug bear for the Knights faithful. If you want a match report here goes: we arrived, we got spanked, we went home tails between our legs….. that should suffice don’t you think?
Onward and Upwards C'mon Donny!

Ealing have always tried to play an expansive game but the current trend of the driving lineout and the boring box kick have changed the game beyond recognition.
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff.

Ah, the days of Phil Chesters and Owen Bruynseels wasn't it? I had the pleasure to play with both in a vets game for Ealing Evergreens against Wasps a few years back!

Ealing Trailfinders could not breach the Bedford Blues lineout defence in our recent game away at Goldington Rd. In the past their line out  defence was very poor....sieve like. Ealing adapted very quickly a scored several tries else where. Historically Ealing Trailfinders are in the Guiness book of records for most tries in a season and in one particular season had the league record for not one wing but both.
Whatever it takes.
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff.

Nice to see 1 Ealing try wasn’t started from a 5m lineout!

A team plays in a defined way based on weaknesses identified in their opponents - if line out defence is seen as something to exploit why not.

True but when you are the No. 1 team, teams try to adapt to stop you.

It also depends how you are coached. You would expect a try (I think) in 6 in total to have come from open play (like a kick return, turnover), the only variation was from a lineout (15 ish metres out) which did go to the backs initially, rather than the backs joining the maul (not from the back either).

I watched the live stream and it was great to see two decent sides - both playing to win. Pirates took their chances well and deserved the win but Ravers forwards in particular always kept them in the hunt for a bonus point. The field looked in great condition given the weather and even the commentary was more balanced than usual. The naughty boys step looked more sphazelnutly populated than I remember it but I still wish I could have been there to enjoy the banter. Have a great season lads.
Dont kick it. Pick it up and GO FORWARD.

Cambridge v Bedford, I think we have had two preseason games in the last 15 years.
One here, when we were riding high in Nat 1, the first time, when we beat you.
And one there, which we lost.

Similar to Hellfire Corner at Redruth?

Not knowing Redriuth, but if you don’t know Goldington Road. A corner drops North to South, West to East creating a pitch with a tricky slope.
Many visiting teams struggle to read the pitch.

I think Blues will rotate a few players to give them more game time but Blues at home and the way we are playing should be eyeing up 50+.
50+
Thinking of 1979?
73-0?
The older I get, the more the RFU leave me confused.
