The one scrum Bedford did get the upper hand, on the Pirates line was given as a CP pen. Had to guess why as with all the game absolutely no signals from Mr Jackson. Not Bedfords favourite official

I watched the Lions game that Plymouth Albion streamed live on you tube, it was a bit dodgy recording at times, but the match was better than the Italy v England game for quality flowing rugby.

With 6N on Friday and yesterday, there's almost a complete absence of rugby on today - only 1 Allianz Women's game at 3pm + a French Top 14 game at 8. Seems like the ideal opportunity to get a Champ game on, with TV or streaming; but no, they were all scheduled for yesterday... Confused

Credit where it's due however: a decent highlights package on social media today - LINK

To be fair to Bedford, The Pirates have been very solid defensively all season and it's very difficult to score against them. Listening on the radio it sounded like Pirates had the upper hand at scrum time, which is always pretty crucial. When Bedford beat us at The Mennaye earlier this season, they outgunned us up front, but we have improved a lot since then. The slope, as usual, played its part and Bedford came very close to overturning the deficit near the end. Fine margins decide so many of these games.

Absolutely cracking game at Ampthill. Very nervy until the last second but it was worrying the amount of nasty injuries we picked up.
However on a nicer note- everyone I met there was incredibly helpful and very nice (I’m on crutches and I turned up after a morning perusing the shops in Milton Keynes so I had a full backpack and several carrier bags)

Another massive effort from The Pirates. Several key players injured and guys brought in to fill the gaps have slotted in brilliantly. Very close at the end, but another classic between these two teams.

FAB-EWE-LUSS win for The Ravers Clap
The pack were magnificent and the goal-line defence was incredible
Good to speak with the Cov supporters, before and after the match
Decent rugby people, who had no complaints with the result

Caldy have a decently big set of forwards but Coventry brought monsters to Paton Field today and in the first half mutant power prevailed. 12-19 at half time. The second half was dominated by the home team who out thought and out fought Coventry to pick up a well deserved bonus point win.

When the chips were down Coventry didn't look much like a team just a collection of powerful individuals  .......Caldy defended ferociously and played the better attacking rugby..

One attack and 3 trys, that's a good scoring ratio.

Maybe if your team stopped giving the pens, just a thought
Besides one high tackle, I didnt see many penalties. The officiating was poor in the extreme. The funniest bit is that the one key penalty that Ealing won (a scrum at the Hartpury 22 down a man) should have been awarded to Hartpury. At one point, Ealing stopped a hartpury maul, and it was stood up stationary for nearly thirty seconds. Poor.

Ealing 36 (BP) - Hartpury 20 (3T) FT - YC total 3 for Ealing, one for Hartpury. A disjointed mess of a match that I honestly can't take anything from.

HT at Blues

Pirates fully deserve the lead. Blues have barely had the ball and although one try for Pirates was a bit lucky given the possession and territory it reflects the score.

Rayer won’t be happy but Blues have the slope and wind advantage for the 2nd half.
