yes - 3 teams leave N2W at season's end (Dings, Newport & DK), with (I think) 5 candidates who could come in (Taunton, Cinderford, Devonport, Oxford Quins & Havant). That makes 16, so 2 would need to move north or east...

Apologies to Hull Ionians.

Your win was 94-26 & not 92-26 as I reported previously. 14 tries and 12 conversions. Congratulations on staying up in Nat 2 North.πŸ‘πŸ‘

Think you're probably guessing there Nat1 as Chester are more likely to return to the North meaning there will be some more infuriating redrawing of the boundary lines which as always put those on the edges scratching their heads wondering where they'll end up. I think probably 1 of those that you mention will end up in Nat2 East but not both - but what do I know!?

Lewis Minikin scored 5 tries and 12 conversions for Hull Ionians making 49 points. Is this a new record for National  league?

No, but equals the Nat 2 North record.

Most points in a match: 49
England Ross Winney for Macclesfield away to Waterloo on 30 January 2010 (2009–10)
But not the Nat 1 record:

Most points in a match: 51
England Sam Ulph for Esher away to Manchester on 5 September 2009 (2009–10)

Sweeney Delenda Est

Chester to stay West
Oxford & Henley go West

Loughborough & Hinckley go east
If Chester go north somebody else has to go west or east, don’t think they would send one of the Hulls east

Is anyone else not a fan of people posting their own forecast of how something will turn out as fact, without giving any explanation, citing a source or adding 'my prediction is'...?

You may well end up being right N1, but I doubt I'm the only one hoping you might not be

Chester, Lymm or possibly even Macclesfield to go West because North has one too many teams again
Oxford Harlequins to go East to accommodate a Northern team in West
All other teams remain in their correct leagues

So it comes down to Chester or Macclesfield to go West; it was already established that Lymm would be staying North this season when it was between them and Chester to move West.

I hope we are put back in North, if for nothing else so I can go to more games.  Whatever the outcome, I won't get to have those excellent pies on offer at Macclesfield Cry

My understanding is that once a club has been level transferred for one season, they are immune from having that done to them again for the next season, so Chester would go back North. But the powers that be seem to apply different rules on every occasion!

I think that was the old rule. I'm lead to believe that the new rule is that at the start of every season, all clubs get grouped together and they redraw the lines and make the call with no appeal against it.

That was certainly the case back in the days when it was just North and South, but I'm sure someone on here (or perhaps in the stand watching the game) said that was no longer the case - no more "home" league, with the boundaries being reset at the start of each season based on the teams competing.

Can anyone confirm if either of those scenarios is true?
