The best players in the Champ tend to move up a level, so possibly that's what is happening here? (subject to fitness, as you mention) I saw another one today: Josh Poullet from Nottingham to Guernsey, presumably with non-rugby employment thrown in...

Ealing signing George Worboys of Bath/Chinnor at Flyhalf. Great signing this, as he was the form flyhalf in Nat1 this year. Also signing 20 year old prop Sam Clark from Falcons. No real splash signings from Ealing this year. Let's see if they have anything up their sleeve from the last four of their nine signings.
