I understand the two yellow cards for Bournville in the last 20 minutes was the turning point in the game.

Two Yellow cards never help any teams cause but the factor that was to prove crucial and ultimately win the match for Hull Ionians was the superior fitness of the Hull Ionians forwards, who produced six try's in the 2nd half. I understand that fitness was also the key to Rotherham's win yesterday.

Not really , but certainly a factor in Stours win away in the dales, far better result for them than a 14-14 draw most would say.

Did you go to the match at Rotherham? I heard today from a Roth supporter that fitness was the key to their win. Hull Ionians should have won at Wharfedale, just like Hull should have won at Stour. We didn't, who cares, move on. Still a long way to go.

To quote the Hull Ionians DOR: Graham Steadman, summed up the game saying “we lacked composure at important moments. Wharfedale put up a spirited display and on reflection the draw was a fair result”.

By "should have won at Wharfedale" I was referring to the perfectly good try we created from a catch and drive on about 78 mins. The ref said he did not see it grounded and suggested were held up. I am sure Graham agrees that it was a crazy decision but he is too polite to say so. Push over/drive trys like that are awarded on momentum every week. Incidentally, we had the same ref at Bournville last week and he awarded all of our catch and drive trys. We all live and learn.
