LOLLOLLOL I counted 8 blues fans at Vallis way on Saturday. 6 of them were in Mike Gooleys posh box šŸ˜‚another 2 very nice ladies sitting down in front of the main stand . Iā€™m sure there must have been another couple somewhere ( didnā€™t hear them šŸ—£) not a bad percentage from a massive 5000 fan base šŸ˜‚

Our capacity must have been reduced as we have had 5,500 on Boxing Day before. Just a shame the game was against Ampthill as we would fill the ground against anyone and get a bigger gate against Ampthill in a normal week.

Brilliant support I always enjoy the trip to Bedford Blues.
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff.

I like the stand that sells sweets. My kids always look forward to that.

Did you consider that blues fans might have been giving someone with your attitudes a very wide berth when you were doing your headcount?

In the interest of balance I would report that I have always been made welcome when visiting Ealing & Bedford and although I don't get to mix with the proper people in the posh boxes I have enjoyed friendly banter with home fans from both clubs who clearly know their rugby. Hospitality and respect should be core rugby values imo.
Dont kick it. Pick it up and GO FORWARD.

Iā€™m not sure itā€™s appropriate for one of the least supported clubs to ā€œcountā€ supporters of one of the best supported clubs! But Iā€™m sure the people who didnā€™t travel had their reasons.

Whatā€™s Ealingā€™s plan to boost crowds to a sustainable level once they reach the prem?

I suspect every promoted club struggles on this front in the early stages but hopefully they stay up and develop the facilities over time. I completely gave up trying to get stuff in the clubhouse when I visited and avoided the proper people's marquee but the pitch side banter was excellent with the local supporters. Caldy have added greatly to the Championship imo.

I think you will find the Service a Caldy was somewhat limited last Saturday as all outside bars and Catering Concession's we not available because of the severe weather, the marquee was opened up after the lunch to all supporters at half time and at the end of the game to help take the pressure of the clubhouse. Caldy was the only club on the Wirral to play on Saturday because on the number of volunteers who worked on the pitch clearing and remarking the lines in red at the request of the referee. Many of these volunteers are in their 70's and worked all morning (They do not get paid and we do not have any paid ground staff) in the snow to ensure the game was played. Unfortunately the pitch cut up badly and had left it badly rutted and frozen. Severe frosts are forecast until Friday morning when the Volunteers will again see if it can be raked and marked for Saturday.
Despite the weather there were over 700 supporters who attended the game and the club still has the 3rd Highest attendance in the league.

Nothing, because the club is already sustainable per our latest accounts.

Really? Blimey; things at level two are a lot worse than I imagined.
