Hats off to Hoppers for bringing through so many youngsters, for regularly fielding 5 senior teams and for the very generous and warm hospitality from their President Keith Brierley.

I am very much looking forward to Caldy's return to National 1 and to visiting some great clubs. Although I am more than a little sad not to be visiting some brilliant Northern clubs for at least a season. The hospitality and warmth amongst all our friends in the North has been just superb this year......luckily we still have Huddersfield and Stourbridge to visit before the season is over.

Would you include Chester in the "brilliant Northern clubs" BE?

Yes I would

Congratulations to Caldy for a brilliant season. I think you're going up to Nat 1 in a better position than last time, and with the seconds doing so well you should have more choice for when injuries to the firsts start hitting.

Seagoon, why wouldn't you include Chester as a brilliant northern club?

Did I say that I wouldn't include Chester, DD?
Maybe I was just teasing or playing devil's advocate

Well done Caldy on to Next year here are some average crowd stat figures based on last weeks attendance. nat1 average 610. 2 North average 343. 2 South average 260. The Caldy Commercial Department better get busy to cover all extra Cost associated with Nat 1. No Help from RFU !!!!

MM,
Your posting suggest that attendance figures will increase with Nat 1 rugby. I can assure you that this is not the case at all. For an increase in attendance figures I would take a Yorkshire derby in Nat 2 North anyday, as opposed to a handful of spectators travelling up from London & Plymouth etc.

I expect Caldy will be hoping Fylde join them in Nat 1. via the play-offs. That would make one good gate next season.
Also, Caldy are no strangers to Nat 1. so they will be well aware of the financial implications.

With Nat 1 going to 14 Clubs in 2021/22, will 5. come down at the end of next saeson?
Good Luck to Caldy.

I don't use RM very often compared with other social media so these are belated congrats to Caldy from everyone at Fylde. It has been a wonderful season and the whole club is I'm sure justly proud of its achievements. By far the best team in N2N! Good luck in N1 next season.

But from our prior experience, I agree with Sid that bigger gates are unlikely unless these can be generated amongst local people in the Wirral and Merseyside. Fylde very disappointed that we'll be missing our excellent clashes with 'Hoppers next season, including the loss of revenue for both clubs.

If it happens it is more likely four down and only 2 (one from each league) up.
That was what happened last time.
