There has to be reasonable grounds not to play because they didn’t feel like it doesn’t count

Cindy coach and others spent an hour clearing water away from the pitch as much as possible.

They did indeed. I watched them brushing surface water into bins and carrying it off the pitch. They made every effort to ensure the match was played but it had been raining for some time and it did not stop raining. There was a lot of well intended optimism which is to be expected but maybe someone needed to be a bit more realistic, a little earlier.
At 14:50 there were still many areas of standing water on the pitch and the ref had no option but to cancel the match.
Another point for the Cinderford supporters to consider is that if we had played, the Cinderford pitch would not have recovered this season.

I was at a wedding just outside Cinderford on Saturday, and it was torrential from about 9am right through the afternoon. Lovely clear still night afterwards and a heavy frost. But there's no way anyone should have been playing rugby in it. There was flash flooding in the surrounding villages.
keep the faith
