This weekend sees some really good looking fixtures, whilst some thought this new league would not work, it seems that it has turned out to be a very successful league. Still long journeys for all, which kinda defeats the whole ethos of the changes, but the rugby seems to be entertaining with some top class games on show.

The coming weekends fixtures are full of intrigue, statements will no doubt be being made, Exeter and Loughboro' students will be both after bragging rights as well as league points.
Dings against Old Reds sees some local interest and again league points are vital if for somewhat different reason, Dings wanting to get into the promotion mix and Reds wanting to climb well away from the bottom.
Lucts v Bournville sees two of the West Midland sides going head to head, with both looking to climb the table to ensure National league status next season.
Newport could have their hands full with table topping Leicester Lions visiting, Newport will be desperate to get off to a good start at home, whilst the visitors will have their sights set on staying at the top of the table.
Hinckley v Barnstaple will also be a key one with thehome side wanting to maintain there charge for the top whilst Barnstaple need to pull away from danger.
Hornets are up against it in perennial promotion chasers Redruth with both sides desperately wanting the spoils, Hornets aren't where they would like to be and Redruth will feel they need to mount a charge now.
Stourbridge entertain Clifton who are definitely fancying a shot at the top whilst Stour languish at the bottom hoping for a change of fortunes.
Good luck to all the sides.

For some strange reason The battle of the students is being played at Millfield school. Anyone know why, and not in Exeter?

It is the Saturday before the start of term.
Could the rugby pitch being used for parking as students return to campus?

There are some intriguing matches in most of the leagues this weekend. Possibly Barnes v Dorking being the stand out one in the east section.
East seems to be the tightest of the divisions with the top 7 all pretty closely bunched.
It will be interesting to see if Sedgley can get across the line after being close for a few years or are Fylde going to pip them on the run in.
West seems to be the most clear cut with Lions having an 11 point lead but a bad run can reel everything back in
Still lots to play for with up to 75 points still available depending on how many games you had cancelled before Christmas
So many Christians not enough Lions
