Oops - apologies...I had it in my mind it was the first year of the Championship, but stand corrected. I'm sure we must have had another memorable game post 2009-10! Certainly plenty of relegation play off angst!

Exeters' decision to go for a double header and lose instead of 2 separate games ultimately cost Pete Drewett and assistant Paul Larkin their jobs. Earlier in National league one in 2005 my favourite game was the win at the County Ground in the Powergen Shield Semi Final when Bedford fly half Ali Hepher dropped goaled a huge kick in the dying minutes to put the Blues into the final at Twickenham. Still my favourite ever Bedford game and I think the best game of rugby I’ve ever seen live. Possibly my favourite sporting moment of all time. Both teams played some very high quality rugby. Bedford pulled up a large lead. Several key players got injured. Exeter clawed back and went ahead in 79th minute 35-34 through a Yapp penalty (having missed several easier penalty/dg attempts). Bedford started from our own 22 and patiently builded through god knows how many phases. Eventually, Karl Dickson (who I believe was covered in blood) sent the back back to Hepher who poorly struck a dg from about 40m out that somehow wobbled over and sent the Bedford fans into raptures. That, the Wilkinson dg and the penalty shoot out against Colombia in 2018 are the 3 sporting occasions that stand out at bringing unbridled joy!

Though beating LS on a Friday night to record our 1st victory in Championship despite the doomsayers, the great atmosphere in the club until 1 am ,beating LS always adds a bit extra, for me it was Cornish Pirates away Great weekend great hospitality from the hosts the only problem was the howling gale

We were leading 5-3 with about two minutes remaining, and Exeter scored a dubious try (clear blocking of a defender) but then we spent three or four minutes working through the phases to put Guy Mercer over under the posts. We also beat them in the pool stages of the play-offs in early May at Esher, Gordon Ross landing a drop goal with the final kick of the game. The most memorable for me was a game I wasn't actually at but watched in the pub on Sky - the first leg of the final against Pirates in 2012. I don't remember seeing such a complete performance from a London Welsh team in this division.

And the banter with Booj. You're right we were just JRFC at that time.

Yes that Worcester game! Even though we lost everyone said we were robbed and also we received an official apology from the RFU over the referring in that game! Still if Edd Thrower had made a pass to Pritchard the 5m pull back on our flanker Gillanders wouldn’t have mattered. Another one would have to be a hundreds of Blues fans turning up on Boxing Day to clear the pitch of snow so 5,500 could watch the Blues beat Bristol. To be honest any game we beat Bristol which was quite a few times over the years!

Being a neutral supporter it had to be the Championship play-off second leg game between Bristol and Exeter Chiefs at The Memorial Ground on Wednesday May 26 2010. Guided by a faultless, 24-point performance by fly-half Gareth Steenson, it gave Exeter a fairytale win to a place in the premiership. Bristol, topped the table after the regular season but Exeter held their nerve to a tremendous second leg win - final score Bristol 10 Exeter Chiefs 29; aggregate 16-38
