Let's think. Would I sit in a 82000 crowd, any number of whom may have the virus, with the risks involved in the foreseeable future? No Would I pay £70-140 for the privilege of doing so? Definitely not Would I like to watch the game on TV? Yes |

As much as I love rugby, I'm not sure I want to watch it on TV with no crowd.
A major part of the game is the crowd interaction and the passion generated by the supporters.

I emailed the RFU to say the survey seemed purely focused on TV audiences and the national team. I stated I thought it should have asked about the community game.
The response I received was that I probably hadn't been asked about the community game as my first few answers, about how I am involved with rugby, may have suggested I'm not involved in the community game. Since I am a current national league player, and selected that option, it is hard to see how much more involved in the community game I could be than running around tackling people on a Saturday afternoon. RFU committee members only care about their days out at Twickenham.

I have to say, I thought the questions gave quite a broad coverage of the game at various levels without too much emphasis on any of them. Some club, some international, only one about Twickenham itself - but I don't know what algorithm they used to send me down that route compared to others.

That sounds like there are different questions depending on your answers? I'll try it again (there doesn't seem to be any limit on having a go) and try to pretend I'm involved in the community game....maybe say I'm a Mini & Junior coach? Update: Yes it does. I'm pretending to have an admin job and am a CB rep. Some odd questions 'do you want a loan' etc until it goes back to the 'do you want to come to watch a game at Twickers/on the telly'. Wow, therefore a Social Profiling survey. Remember when former Home Secretary Michael Howard was described as having "something of the night about him."
Well this survey has "something of the Cambridge Analytica about it" By going down the selective question route the survey responses will swing from:- Hot Dogs, 25 minute Games, Half a Game, British Bull-Dog, Debenture Holder, Bigger Leg Room in the West Stand, Bollinger, County games, No County Games, Stay at home watch on TV, go to the game, play it on my PS4, pay up to £150 for a International Ticket, Pay no more than £75 for a International Ticket, all games at Twickenham, no games at Twickenham, play some games away from Twickenham, no relegation, yes relegation, salary cap, no salary cap, fizzy pop....... Second thoughts maybe they are auto-writing the PMs next speech?

How exactly? It’s a questionnaire that uses skip logic, exactly the same as a analog version that states ‘if yes go to section 2’. It’s hardly ground breaking. Seems everyone gets asked the Twickenham questions regardless, but it stands to reason that someone filling in an RFU survey might be a tad more relevant person to ask that question to opposed to anyone off the street.

373, I would suggest then that some of the skip logic if flawed. I started the thread as I was questioned about attending games and not about the Community Game. I'm a CB Secretary and my interest is solely helping the community game.

I no longer have a formal role but entered my previous committee role and it took me down the Twickenham route. I would have been much happier if I’d been asked questions about club rugby (don’t like the “community” description.)

ok can any one say this isn't fishy smelling? Survey ends, following day the Telegraph are reporting this......
Great a survey about the game, asking "stakeholders"? seems to have been sent to the Press quicker than you can say "This survey was nothing to do with the game, community or otherwise, its all about ££££££s" |

No the bars will be open. RFU branded facemasks with built in drinking straws will be mandatory at the unbelievably cheap price of £24.99

I understand the RFU have calculated that if they stick to the 2m social distancing rule then the capacity will drop from 82000 to 5000. To make ends meet that would mean a £100 ticket selling for £1640.
