Really saddened to see Steve Larkin's relinquish his DOR role at the Cornish club.
Proper statesman and must be a shock to many after such a successful second spell at Town. Appears to me they'll be attempting to have senior players moving into coaching roles as hie won't be replaced at least in the short term. Camborne played outstanding rugby last season on a superb pitch and very well supported too. Really wish him well |

Can’t help thinking this has something to do with the arrival of a second Matavesi. A pretty amazing line up being assembled for the coming season.

The pressure will certainly be on them to go one better than last year.
Taunton and Cinderford under preformed last season, and the 'Midlands based sides are also tough opponents, and have a geographical bias .
Will be really interesting to see how the promoted tier four teams fare in National One. |

Not too difficult to suggest that the 2 promoted sides (Barnstaple & Syston) will have to be exceptional to survive. I also think Lymm will find it much tougher playing against clubs in this league who are constantly fed by Loan & DR players from 4 Prem clubs, not to mention the excessive travelling they will have to undertake

Clubs constantly fed loan and DR players? Feel free to name them. Taunton get some, struggling to think of anyone else, certainly those clubs who are actually in the west. And I really wish people would stop wanging on about poor old Lymm; they will have fewer travel miles than either Camborne or Redruth.

Lymm are known themselves in rugby circles up north for being reliant on reinforcements from Sale…check the form guide last year and you can guess when they were missing!

Cheshire Exile - is that a serious question? Over the last 2 seasons - Dings & Clifton full of Bristol guys every week, many of whom played in the Prem Cup - hence their subsequent promotions. Old Reds ditto pick up from Bristol. Redruth very often have Pirates on loan. Hinckley pick up a few from Saints and/or Leicester. So 6 Prem clubs feeding in players to Nat2West. Add in tbe 2 Uni's who are spoon fed the best young talent in the land year after year and you should start to realise just how tough this league is. Yes I'm aware Sale provide a few elsewhere but they don't have the resource to prop up the Northern clubs in N1 and N2N.
Despite all the grumbles about travel - both ways - this is the toughest league by far at Nat2 (in my opinion)

.... and that, in a nutshell, is why I advocate season long only DR

There are loan players in many of the teams in this league but Dings won it with very few and Clifton have been promoting the fact they didn’t have any loan players this year.

It’s very flattering to have Pirates described as one of the six Premiership clubs. We’ve loaned players to Redruth for a post injury match before returning to the Championship but we’ve also borrowed Choppers boys when we’ve been short, a consequence of geography but also of a close knit network. Clifton have of course been promoted so the downtrodden of Lymm won’t need to tangle with them. You’re in danger of playing the “we had it tough” card from anyone north of Birmingham a bit too often.

Absolutely not the case. We enjoyed our 2 years in Nat2 but when you've sat in many pre-match lunches listening to club heirarchy complaining that "It's not fair that ClubX and Club Y get more loan players than we do" and then watching a game where that same heirarchy don't know who half their players are. Made me e ask myself the question "Is this really what it's all about?" Personally I don't think it is! Grow your own players, sign a few if you have to but don't have a model where players are there for a month then off somewhere else, then to be replaced by other loanees just to ensure you stay at a certain level. Just my opinion I know many others will disagree
