Never bet against Exmouth before, but it will be a long afternoon for them. Our squad is not good enough.

Decent game at Newbury today tho another loss 21 36 to Exeter Uni who by the looks of the team sheet had quite a few of their BUCS team out. 4 of their 5 tries were scored by props - tho Blues had a pushover try of their own.

But it was Exeter's very slick backs that did the damage!

Tactical naivity from the Blues cost them two tries - trying to run it out of defence from their own try line when a hefty boot to touch was more in order, and kicking away possession to the rampant Exeter backs. Shame, as the Blues actually slightly dominated the scrums and held their own in the line outs.

I fear that next week's game against Exmouth is a must win if relegation is to be avoided :(

Agree Anorak there has been a tactical naiveity this season tho no team has outclassed them.
Next weeks game at Exmouth is defo must win to give them any chance of avoiding the drop

There is still time to pull it around NB, its a very competitive league where anyone can beat anyone else on their day as you proved against Barum - by the way you were the last team to score a try against Barum (back in November).

Well this week the results revolved around Newbury and Launceston, the former losing and the latter winning these really being the deciding factor between most predictors full house and not.
Star performers this week with full houses were after week off before Christmas Surrey Ben, Front Jumper and Gopher 72 Clap Clap Clap. Bringing up the rear with 3 was Anorak Ouch. LockNLoader looks like he's been Bonnie Tylered (assuming he's gone there again) with no fixtures or predictions hence hasn't trouble the scorer this week.
Surrey Bens' full house has taken him clear at the top once more and Front Jumpers hand in has propelled him into 2nd on his own. Gopher 72 has now started making his charge for the top.
The league looks like this.

Surrey Ben                    69

Front jumper.               64

Barum man                   63

Seaside mafia              63

Sorry Gents and thank you to FP to post Wk 15 fixtures!

I enjoyed far too many shandys across the festive period including Saturdays game at Monks Lane, whats this Dry January tosh people are going on about! Back to it this week, i promise! Beer

It's always interesting to hear views from fellow Blues followers. I left Monks Lane on Saturday with bad feelings towards the end result of that game. Every time we got our game plan together we let in some soft tries. The trys themselves were well executed in typical Exeter fashion but its the build up to those tries which are hard to take.

Im sure the boys have video footage to take a look at to reflect but poor tackling in the midfield and edges as well as naivety in some of their kicking back to a very dangerous counter attacking team. Execution was the big difference between the two sides in the end.

Our pack with a bit more weight looked awesome, Walsh (some cracking hits which will bolster his highlight reel) and the return of Erskine (finally realising those muscles aren't just for show and made some good ground at the weekend) were the two stand outs for me at the weekend in particular.

Although i dont like to ever consider a crisis but Exmouth away at the weekend is a massive game for both teams and could determine at least one of the two spots for going down this season. Sobering reality for the Blues this week that time is running out to turn good patches of performance in games into a streak of games now.
