For some reason this game is being played tonight. Anyone know why?

Anyway Leeds lead 7-0.

Leeds win 20-8 but Wharfedale become the first team to stop Leeds getting a bonus. Leeds got three tries and Wharfedale got one.

Well played both teams.

First proper scrap I've seen in years, sneaky digs,. headlocks, forearms, players flying in.  A few would've walked if that had been televised. And then Dale ran it from. 15m, straight into another high shot.

Tel you what, Rob Baldwin has still got it.

Big crowd there, suspect 1500, nearly every one cheering  for the Greens. What a noise when they scored.

Last 20 were a damp squib as the team of 3 slowed everything to a crawl, probably be to let folks calm down.

Tykes defence and. retention skills were terrific. Dale a couple short short of being a very good side.

Tykes, despite everyone else thinking they should be in Yorkshire 5, play at the speed of level 4 sides, their ball retention and defence is superb, but if your pack go out full of fire and energy, with the intention of destroying their pack, and you don't miss tackles or touch, then you might do it.

Dale had the best scrum half in the North (Gaudie)at 10,  young Riddiough at 9, who will become a great scrum half, but last night with Gaudie at 9 and a top 10 with a good kicking game, it would have been far, far closer. Far too many errors to make it closer. Tykes v Roth will be huge

tykes    v  rotherham    will be a interesting battle having  played both now  i would say   leeds  have the  edge simply  because of the  speed they play  at   but if you can get to them early  who knows

Thanks for your feedback. Before we go to Leeds we have to play Ionians today away and Hull at the Lane next week.

Ionians, judging by the score line at least, had a resounding win against Dale, so will clearly be a tough nut to crack, particularly on their own ground.

I know Leeds are “at home” in two weeks time but if the Rotherham massive turn out in force then it could be like an away game for the Tykes players. Should be an absolute belter of a game whatever happens.
