Ok Yogi, You enjoy the short term success that being a 'one team' Club brings and, leave the future of the game to the real community Clubs

I’m sure Sid will receive a really warm welcome when he sits down with the Hull officials at the pre match lunch before the forthcoming home game against his team, despite all the vitriolic rhetoric he has expounded against them over the years, and probably someone will correct him and tell him that the club runs a 2nd XV as well.

Puli, I feel your pain. Generally about the time I read Scrum Time's predictions. Apparently, every other club has to have a whip round amongst the players for petrol money. When I say petrol money, our players push their kit to the away games in a hand-cart. You had a handcart, we carried the tackle bags on our backs. We left the club at 2:00pm on a Saturday, before the previous match had kicked off, and crawled on our hands and knees to the opposition ground, played the match and crawled back, getting back on Sunday, after the next home game had finished. We cut the grass by hand with nail clippers and painted the lines with our tongues. Tell that to the player's today, they won't believe you. Apologies to the "At last the 1948 Show". (Much to the amusement of others) Puli, If invited, I will sit down with your committee for lunch. Why dont you ask them how welcome they were made at Brantingham Park. We had a very coridal afternoon, which is what I would expect. I will give them an honest opinion if asked. I suggest you look back at what I said earlier. I said "As far as I am concerned, Clubs can do what they like with their money but don't tell others that they can't make comment". Hardly vitriolic rhetoric. Yes, you have attempted to occasionally put out 2ndXV this season, mostly students I think, but it's a start and I applaued that. Back in the1990's, Hull used to have other senior teams and some Mini Junior age groups. What happened to them? Who decided to scrap them and throw everything at one team? I am not alone in my opinion. Our opposition committees have had lots to say on this issue this season and, I can't understand why passing an opinion on something that IMHO is ruining our game should amuse others. |

The Roth match report refers to 'video footage' apparently showing that the ball went over the bar...

Hi Islander. Someone said that they were standing behind the posts and saw it go under.
However, if there is footage I think it should be shown and not kept by the privileged few. A picture paints a thousand words or so they say. Hope you are keeping well Tom. Could do with a week in Jersey to get out of this abysmal weather for a while. Shame we are no longer in the Championship. We had some good battles in St. Peter. Your commentary was fantastic.
