At one point the ref looked at the Northwich defensive line, waved them back from offside, Northwich turned the ball over, he looked at the loo defensive line and immediately blew a penalty for offside! At one point he penalised loo for calling a forward pass, gifting Northwich 3ptd right in front of the posts!

I think criticism of refereeing in the bar, post match is almost inevitable.
But I suspect we all get the "rub of the green" on occasion. Certainly some Burnage members were apoplectic about the referee's performance after our game at Waterloo. However, I think continuing that on here, well after the fact, is quire poor form. We were dissatisfied with the referee at our away game at Northwich. A Northwich supporter berated the referee post match. The referee (bless him) offered the guy the number of the secretary of the referee society and recommended a refereeing course. Oddly, the bloke backed down really fast. |

A very gritty win for Loo over a strong AK side. Very similar gameplan to Birkenhead - kick to touch and roll the maul from wherever it may be.
The rolling maul must be the most polarising play in rugby - possibly in all of sport! It's great fun when it's your team doing it, but almost nothing worse watching the opposition roll away from the halfway line. Interestingly (to me at least), I've just noticed that out of Loo's 8 games played, 5 of them have been against the current top 6, 4 of which have been away - our next 4 games include all of the current bottom 3, so it will good to see where we lie after the fixtures hit the halfway mark. It's a fascinating league.

Good point about the RM Sten -and relevant stats given nature of this league. With Wilmslow losing narrowly it still remains open. Hopefully S Mcr has dried out now?

Week off for N1W this week. Any idea if the three games cancelled last week at Bowdon, Bro Pk n Stockport will be played? Last thing we need this early is a back log.

I understand Port game at Northwich switched to Bramhall due to flooded pitch.

Wilmslow and B Park opening up a bit of a gap although Burnage has a game in hand.
Any thoughts from those who may have seen a game today. |

Burnage,28 Penrith 18
An excellent game of rugby A smashing, sociable, afternoon with our friends from the North. Penrith a little unlucky to get nothing out of the game. We visit Broughton Park next Saturday at their place, looking forward to going there to watch the game Edited by MikeGC - 10 Nov 2019 at 08:31 |

Reminiscent of last year. Two at the top, two at the bottom & a bun fight in the middle. Away performance & bonus points will be key.

Congratulations to Park on the victory. A series of yellow cards and 25+ penalties cost us dearly. Edited by MikeGC - 16 Nov 2019 at 16:57 |

Lots of teams separated by very few points - Wilmslow keep picking up those wins whilst bottom 3 looking further adrift.Still a lot to play for especially at the top.

Bowden have some decent players, unfortunately for them, not enough. Made Loo toil for the opening 15 but couldn't hold out for ever. Loo pressure eventually taking over. Bowden got on the scoreboard in the last 5 minutes. 63-10

Big opportunity for Loo next weekend though - a win at Wilmslow woud certainly open things up especially if Port and Burnage win that game in hand.

It's obvious but Wilmslow look the team to beat, not impossible, if it were at home I think there'd be more of a chance. All depends on availability, but I can't foresee many leaving Wilmslow with a win.
