Nottingham 5 vs 1 Caldy… Caldy have had 2 huge results, but both were at home. They travel to a very good side who just can’t finish off games at the moment. I think that the Green & Whites will be targeting this game to get their season shifting again. Should be entertaining though.
Ampthill 1 vs 4Coventry… Cov are not so good on the road on grass pitches, but they looked the real deal against Jersey. The Mob are tough to beat at home. Really tricky to predict, but I will go for a tight away win.
Hartpury 1 vs 4 Ealing… Tie off the week. Glos 2nds will be keen to show the PL wouldbies what to expect if they get promoted. Also coming off a good away win, they will be up for the challenge. Ealing will not like the surface, but with Jersey at home to the basement side, they will not want to slip up. An away win, but no fancy stuff, just get the win anyhow.
Bedford 5 vs 0 Cornish Pirates… Blues at home are full of industry and running. Who knows which Pirates team turns up. Could be fun though.
Richmond 4 vs 1 Doncaster… A rare home defeat last week and another tough game for Donny. Mond are a good side, Donny away are unpredictable. I think a tight home win.
Jersey 5 vs 0 LS… Jersey to win well, but they will probably only get clear water in the last 20.

Archers 4 -1 Caldy Tight contest with a handful of points in it.

Amps 2-5 Cov Should be a great contest my tie of the round - Cov may have a few injuries

Pury 2-5 Ealing The tough games keep coming for trailfinders

Blues 4 -1 Pirates At home Blues to take this one by 4-5 points

Mond 3-2 Donny A messy draw but Mond to score 4 tries

Jersey 5-0 McQuins Home team with loads of squad rotation - Bain & Venner might make the team sheet this time around - It will be cold

Nottingham 4-0 Caldy. An interesting one with Caldy enjoying themselves right now. I just think their run will be halted here.
Ampthill 4-1 Coventry. A brave prediction but when these two teams play one another, home advantage tells.
Hartpury 1-5 Ealing. Hartpury are the form team and could well score four tries. But Ealing should score more.
Bedford 5-0 Pirates. Bedford should score at least four tries against a faltering Pirates team.
Richmond 4-1 Doncaster. What on earth has happened to Doncaster's form. Unless they improve they could well lose this one too.
Jersey 5-0 L Scottish. A 99% banker.

Nottingham 5 - 1 Caldy - Arrows to defend home pitch.
Ampthill 1 - 4 Coventry - Coventry form side.
Hartpury 5 - 0 Ealing - I genuinely don't like the team that Ealing is putting on the field this weekend, and they already haven't felt like they are clicking the last few weeks (losing to Caldy and struggling to Ampthill). Hartpury the other form side.
Bedford 1 - 4 Cornish Pirates - I have a funny feeling about this match, and Pirates have seemed to be trending up.
Richmond 0 - 4 Doncaster - Richmond have not been on great form, and Donny seem to be trending up.
Jersey 5 - 1 London Scottish - I suspect that this will be fairly close due to lots of loanees.

Ealing Trailfinders team to face Hartpury:

Not at all sure about this squad, but hope they prove me wrong. Luke Daniels come back in after being taken out of the squad for Nathan Earle, who doesn't even make the 23. Malton comes back into the squad, presumably from injury, which I like (the return, not the injury). Gibbons seemed to struggle the last couple games, so unsure about him. Would rather see Will Davis. The thing that really makes me nervous is not having Rayn Smid in the squad. He organizes everything, and makes the team more than the sum of its parts. Last week he was on the bench, now he isn't in the 23. Performance was night and day. Will Montgomery is the better physical specimen at this point in their respective careers, but I'd select Rayn. Uzokwe starting is good, but I'd have put him at 6 and Tizanno at 7. Hope I'm wrong, but I'd have put my 100% top squad out for a form Hartpury side.

15. Jonah Holmes

14. Luke Daniels

13. Max Bodilly

12. Pat Howard

It has been quite a bounce from Caldy. When they returned empty-handed from the RAG at the start of December they had 8pts from as many games. Since then: 5 more games, 4 wins and 19 points, which is pretty impressive.

Well done Caldy. What a breath of fresh air they are for this league. I remember some of the Caldy stalwart comments when they won promotion basically saying that ‘we don’t expect to win any games, but we are going to have a good time.’ …. Well, wrong on the first count, correct on the 2nd. So looking forward to their first visit to the island in March.

Reds v Scottish finished 24-22. You won't get a more fortunate win with LS missing what would have been a last-kick DG and then a last-kick pen attempt. 8 tries, and exciting, but you'd have thought it was 2 sides in upper mid-table not 2nd v 12th

Agree with you & wish Ealing good luck in the Prem. However I thought they were turned over easily at the breakdown several times first half and the penalty that led to the try just before half time was marginal IMO.

Fully agree with this but if you're not playing well its a huge bonus if you get lucky by scoring an interception try and your opponents miss a kick to win from in front of the posts. If Jersey play like that against Pirates next week they will need to keep the luck running for them given their mounting injury list. Scottish must be absolutely gutted, they played exceptionally well and will surely win games on that form.

Yes, but CC this was not a London Scottish Championship side that we faced today. If they put that side out every week they would be in the top 3.

I can see only two players not in the squad that played Bedford last week?? Many teams change 3-4 players a week due to injury or changes of position. Perhaps Jersey had an off day?

Jersey didn't have their best day mate and that may well be partly due to the coaches selection policy but I give most credit to Scottish who played really well particularly in the second half down the slope. It must be good for the game that the big Tongan lad gets a chance to play rugby - he is unlikely to play ahead of Dombrandt at Quins - and that was a brilliant game to watch with 8 tries. I was at the reverse fixture at the RAG which Jersey won at a canter and was a total mismatch. I would much rather see a game like yesterday which literally went down to the wire. I understand the opposition to the present player loan arrangements which may well be over well used by some clubs but its giving cracking players a chance to play competitive rugby rather than sit games out with bigger clubs. Given the Jersey injury list I'd be surprised if the Jersey coaches aren't looking to borrow a hooker on loan although I saw Jack Macfarlane watching from the West end of the ground yesterday. Jersey's lineout was much improved imo opinion when Hamish Bain was on the pitch but place kicking from both teams probably requires practice!

Bedford clearly blew Prates away, I didn't expect a win, but I didn't expect that as Pirates seemed to be improving since the New Year. A bit of a reality check for this young squad. Hope they can regroup for a tough test against Jersey next week.

We all agree that these are good players who should be playing at a high level.
However, is the best way to do that for the RFU to give money to a handful of clubs to employ them and then loan them out to other clubs of their choice.

Firstly, it seems to distort the lower leagues.
Secondly, there is still a risk that the chosen club can go bust.
Thirdly, it probably inflates wages across the leagues.
Finally, it does not seem to be the best system financially - money going through multiple hands with that many accountants costng money.

Because of the geographical dominance of where the majority of prem sides are located, the talent too be loaned out is generally loaned in their area's, to the benefit of them tier 2, 3 clubs etc.

Looking at the fixture run in at Goldington Road I can only see that figure going higher.  All highest placed teams to visit, also our ‘bogey’ team Richmond.  Expect a possible sellout against Cov on the 29th April, win or lose that will be a great end to the season.

It's the world rugby lives in today in England mate so clubs like Scottish, Blues & Hartpury will naturally take the opportunity to use these cracking players. I enjoyed seeing an great contest yesterday and its difficult for me to moan as Jersey very fortunately  took all five points. Quins will want Scottish to stay in the Championship so the quality of loan players are likely to increase as we get to the sharp end of the season.

Reds v Scottish finished 24-22. You won't get a more fortunate win with LS missing what would have been a last-kick DG and then a last-kick pen attempt. 8 tries, and exciting, but you'd have thought it was 2 sides in upper mid-table not 2nd v 12th

Wasn't it Championship 2nd v Championship 12th/Premiership 3rd?
However you want to describe the fixture it was a great game to watch from start to finish.

It hasn't been publicly yet.

Updated to remove out-of-state / incorrect info. Thanks PI003.

As the other overdue match in the Championship also involves Ampthill (v Nottingham), occurred (or rather, didn't) first it has priority for scheduling. Apparently this game is now scheduled for Feb 25th, which means the first weekend for Ampthill to play Coventry probably April 8th.

As the other overdue match in the Championship is Nottingham v Ampthill, which occurred (or rather, didn't) first it has priority for scheduling. As this is a Nottingham home match it cannot be scheduled until Nottingham local football fixtures are scheduled due to Police requirements to not allow two sporting events to use the Trent Bridges on the same day.
Apparently someone failed to leave the wolf and the cabbage on the same side of the river at the same time while the rabbit was in the small rowing boat.

Nick you are right on the yet to be arranged Ampthill v Coventry fixture, but the game mentioned including Nottingham is in fact, Ampthill v Nottingham , and that has been arranged for the first available date which was February 25th.
Hope this clears this up.

Thanks for explaining that lads and all the best for the remaining games. I still rate Cov as having an outside chance of winning the league. Ealing have four away games left at Archers, Blues, Jersey & Donny and could well lose at least half of them so keep going. It could come down to bonus  points at the end of April.
