Afternoon ST, lovely day for it!

I was looking at historical fixtures between sides this week, and noticed a certain M Riley in the match day squad for Cindy v Sedge back in 2012! To still be playing Nat 1 rugby, and in a side at the top end of the league, over a decade later is quite something. Anyone aged over 35 and still playing at Level 3 (esp in the backs) has my full admiration!

Good luck in the Forest today.

Well said. Matt is an inspiration to us all. He is Sedge through and through eventhough his early development was at Widnes RUFC  then Sale Sharks. He has been simply outstanding I am sure each club has their very own Matt Riley. My admiration to all of those players.

It must be in the blood in the Riley family as Andy is clocking up a very impressive set of appearances for Sedge and their father โ€˜Crackโ€™  has only just given up playing and heโ€™s in his  sixties! just. Sorry Crack for letting the cat out of the bag๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Have a great game all and stay injury free.

All the best

Certainly is, best league in the country! Moseley will be gutted, seems they were leading for 3/4 of that match.

You too ST, enjoy.

Match report from today (vs. your opponents for next weekend). Was a closer affair than the scoreline suggests, ran away with it at the end:

Very true se7en at 70 mins it was a one score game but the 2 late tries were too much although we could have snatched a bonus point at the death had our replacement hooker dived rather than try to run through which made him a big target. Credit to Rams best team we have played so far

Here is the report on today's Chinnor vs Richmond game today.

As many spectators were wondering at half-time, how on earth did Richmond beat Plymouth last week after Albion had looked so good at Chinnor the week before ? It just goes to show what a great division this is.

After falling 45-7 behind, credit to Richmond to fight back to earn a try bonus point, but frankly they were outclassed today.

I really thought the Lions with the side they fielded would have won that game at home, this Nat1 league really is a tough nut to crack, it seems any side can beat any other side, really is of a high standard, I think the Lions have felt they have let a couple of games slip away that they shouldn't have, adjusting to this standard takes time.

Sale pack set platform for victory

Sale headed into home the game against Rosslyn Park on the back of another loss on the road, knowing that victory was vital in their efforts to move away from the foot of the table.

The early stages saw both sides testing each other out, but it was the blue and whites who took the lead in the 8th minute when Connor Doherty intercepted a pass on halfway and strode away to score under the posts; Tom Curtis added the extras. 7-0

The visitors responded almost immediately with wing, Charles Walker, outpacing the defence to score in the corner; Josh Bragman kicked the conversion. 7-7

Curtis put the Dogs back in front with a penalty after a fine break from Fergus Mulchrone and, shortly after, the impressive Doherty repeated his first try, stripping the ball on halfway and blasting in; Curtis again on target. 17-7

Park threw everything at the hosts towards the end of the half but a superb defensive stint was interrupted by an intercept from Stone Priestley-Nangle, who galloped almost the length of the pitch before offloading to Matt Bradley for an easy score; Curtis made no mistake from directly in front of the posts. HT 24-7

Sale FC started the second half in the ascendency and extended the lead in the 45th minute when Jake Barron barrelled over for the bonus point try after several phases near the whitewash; Curtis made it 5 kicks from 5. 31-7

The Dogs continued to dominate proceedings, helped by a yellow card for Parkโ€™s captain, Arthur Ellis, and Sean Street dived on a loose ball behind the whitewash to score the fifth try; Curtis made it a perfect afternoon from the tee. 38-7

Park pierced the Sale defence in the 78th minute through Josh Bragman but there was still time for Street to cap a fine team performance, as he danced in for his second try with Matt Bradley on target with the kick. FT 45-7

A superb performance from the Dogs to earn their second consecutive home win and give them confidence as they approach a crucial few weeks before the festive period.

RP were in self destruct mode. They donated Sale the first 3 tries - 2 interceptions and one ball strip - all from distance. They dictated the first half yet Sale ended  it 24-7 up. I have to say, though, that Sale's defence was a vast improvement on the early part of the season - they repeatedly repelled RP's rolling mauls.
