Caldy 3-3 Cov Although 5-2 either way is more likely we are due a draw.
Pirates 5-0 Exiles Strong home banker
Knights 5-0 Amps Two good sides but at home Donny will take this
Trailfinders 5-0 Archers Ealing to make it a perfect 7
Pury 1-4 Jersey Hoping Jersey forwards will give them the edge in this one
Mond 5-1 Blues On their home turf Mond to take this one.

Apologies if this is already covered elsewhere.

Caldy 5-2 Cov Tough one to call
Pirates 4-1 London Scottish LS finding their feet but HW
Knights 5-0 Amps I think this could be a doozy
Trailfinders 5-1 Nottingham to make them work
Hartpury 2-5 Jersey Jersey should take the 5 but worked hard
Richmond 1-4 Bedford Another chance for try of the week for Bedford

Caldy 1 - 5 Coventry… A TBP only for the spirited home side
CP 5 - 0 LS… Can’t see anything else than a comfortable home win. A possible TBP for the exiles, but they will need the ball first.
Donny 5 - 0 Ampthill… IF ( big if) Knights play like they did in the first half against Jersey then it will be an away win. But, IF they play like they did in the second, then it will be a regulation 5 pointer… I am going for the latter.
Ealing 5 - 0 Nottingham… Looks like a good game this. Nottingham playing really well this season, but ET are just so strong at home.
Hartpury 0 - 5 Jersey … The Reds would have got a rocket put up them after their second half performance against Donny and rightly so. I’m expecting a fast start with no let up. The unknown is who will turn out for Hartpury.
Richmond 2 - 5 Bedford … Blues will look to play their usual style, but Mond are tough up front and will get their chances. High scoring away win.

Caldy 4-1 Cov - Ravers at home, why not?
Pirates 5 -0 L Scots - Scottish aren't going to win away from home this year. Banker.
Knights 4-1 Amps  - Tenacious Ampthill defense to keep things close, but the professionals to pip it at the death with an Olver kick to redeem himself.
Trailfinders 5-0 Nottingham - Nottingham definitely most improved so far, but I don't think that they have improved enough.
Hartpury 0-5 Jersey - Pury not impressing this year, and Jersey seeming very strong.
Richmond 4-1 Bedford - RAG a very tough out, and I just have a feeling that the mighty Mond will defend their home patch.

Predictions:
Caldy 4 v 1 Coventry - This could be the one for Caldy to get their first home championship win
Cornish Pirates 5 v 0 London Scottish - Pirates clearly in a transitional season but they will still dominate this one.
Doncaster 4 v 1 Ampthill - Amps were very dogged in this fixture last season and I expect a similar game this time. Low scoring and one for the purists.
Ealing 5 v 1 Nottingham - Nottingham much improved this year but don’t see Ealing slipping up - visitors to get 4 tries.
Hartpury 1 v 4 Jersey - The Reds will keep their unbeaten record but will have to scrap for the full 80 minutes. Close.
Richmond 2 v 5 Bedford - This could be the game of the round. Both teams will look to entertain the masses. Blues to win it late but 4 tries each.

Caldy 2-5 Coventry. I think both sides will score at least four tries with Coventry holding their nerve…..just.
Cornish Pirates 5-0 London Scottish. A home banker, even if LS have their Harlequins.
Doncaster 1-4 Ampthill. Fixtures between these two have always been close with Doncaster usually scraping through. Time for Ampthill to reverse the trend. AND I AM DELIGHTED TO SAY I WILL BE THERE. It’s just over 50 miles from where I live and is the closest fixture of the season for me, so well worth the car trip.
Ealing 5-0 Nottingham. Still close at halftime but the Trailfinders should boss the second half.
Hartpury 1-4 Jersey. A hard one to predict, and I expect it to be tight.
Richmond 2-5 Bedford. This could be the most entertaining tie this week. I expect a score of something like 37-43.

Lucky man Cherub my favorite away trip. I can highly recommend the bovril & the world class pie and the banter is real quality. If you have time after the match the curry in Elachi in the village next door is exceptional and was highly recommended to me by Bodes the Knights DOR.

Apologies, totally off topic, but the England squad have been over this week and there was an open training session this morning.
Loved watching the pace of everything that they were doing, but the highlight for me was seeing the kids watching their heroes close up, who all spent time doing selfies, signing balls/shirts etc.
last off the pitch by a country mile was Marcus Smith. This lad is talented, but knows where he started (age wise) and what inspired him.
Privileged to have been there. Thanks Santander for the invite.

Rare indeed to have 6 Champ fixtures on the same day. Via my quick flick through results just now, this has only happened once since 23/4/16, which was the last day of that season. There were 6 games on 27/4/19 - again the last day. There used to be a regulation that all games in the last round must KO at same time, but that doesn't seem to apply now, or if it does it isn't enforced. Of course it wasn't possible to have 6 games in the 3 seasons during this period when we only had 11 clubs... Geek

Blues has 3 Saints starting (2, 3, 12) and 2 (4/5, 9) on the bench. Pleased to have Painter again who caused a lot of damage in the scrum against Hartpury.

Richmond have a few ex Blues looking to impress again but the Blues team should be getting 5 points.

A flurry of scores at the beginning of the 2nd half. Hartpury got the score back to 10 (2T) - 12 (2T) whilst down to 14. But Jersey scored 2 quick tries themselves to leave us 10(2T) - 24(4T)
I think that I heard on the radio that Hartpury have fielded 10 DR/loan players!!

Relief to get the win. Listening on radio - Reds dominated 1st half and could/should have scored more than 12 pts. But conceding 2 tries in 8 mins to 14 men after restart wasn't in our script & we were forced to raise game, achieved with a quick brace of our own. Hosts came back again but the late penalty provided breathing space. Ealing likely to maintain 2 point lead at top of table and increase their points difference by the sound of it...

They won every lineout whilst Fish was on. Inexplicably subbed him off, lost every one thereafter. Neither of the hookers contracted to Bedford are of the standard required for this league. Embarrassing performance by the blues, who racked up all their points during a 12 min purple patch in first half when Richmond had players in the bin but over the remaining 65-70 mins were pumped 36-0. Richmond deserved the win.

I have to say I’m really proud of Notts. Once upon a time that would have been a one sided cricket score Ealing’s way. Sounds like we put up one heck of a fight and to force a try bonus point was superb. Well done boys!

Bedford need to focus on things in December when things resume.
Nottingham - Home
Ealing - Away
Jersey - Away
Ampthill - Home (Boxing Day)

If we turn up, we should get wins at home, and maybe snatch an away Bonus Point.

But the 4th place is looking as high as we might be for a while.

I have just arrived back home from the Doncaster game. Ampthill won 19-14………if you ignore the first 25 minutes. During that time they gave away umpteen penalties, saw our captain in the sin bin, and let in three converted tries. It was uncomfortable watching. Things picked up after that but the game was not a classic and the Knights were definitely the better side on the day.

On the plus side I met up with some of the travelling support which was great, especially the world famous author Mr Mike Plant and his wife, Ann. I hope everyone has a safe trip back home.

I also sampled the beef and potato pie, chips, and gravy, as instructed. Very tasty.

Good to hear that you sampled the culinary delights of Castle Park Cherub Big smile!. As for the match I agree with your summary. Donny really came out of the blocks and dominated the first 30 minutes and looked like they were going to put up a cricket score but the As really upped the intensity in the second half and certainly enjoyed the bulk of the territory. You scored some good tries and had it not been for some poor discipline you could have easily gone away with 2 bonus points. It was a good scrap as it always is against Amps.

Very tasty.
Brilliant post mate be warned away games are addictive and the trail leads to Penzance and the Dock Inn or even the Traf in St Aubin.

What about the LampLighter in St Helier - my favourite away trip by a country mile even if we don’t win too often against you CC

A perfect first block of games for Trailfinders. Can anyone beat them this season?

I think that I heard on the radio that Hartpury have fielded 10 DR/loan players!!

Believe you're right Brizz... & think 10 may be the maximum permitted.  Harvey Biljon mentioned a 'Premier Select XV'  in https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/63431565?xtor=AL-73-%5Bpartner%5D-%5BBBC+England%5D-%5Bheadline%5D-%5Bnews%5D-%5Bbizdev%5D-%5Bisapi%5D&at_campaign=64&at_custom2=twitter&at_medium=custom7&at_custom4=6A574DC2-57B5-11ED-B15F-E1AE4744363C&at_custom3=LR+BBC+Jersey&at_custom1=link" rel="nofollow - his post-match interview

Hope not. I was blown away by the skill and quality of Jack Grant on his debut yesterday...and he's our third choice scrum half.

Unusual red card at the Mennaye yesterday after half an hour's play - LS replacement warming up in corner, Pirates f-h fires a 50:22 kick down there, with ball rolling into touch, pursuing CP player tries to grab ball and take quick throw, LS sub apparently kicks it out of his hand and is shown a red for interference...

To have the resolve to come back and keep going after the first half 38 to 0 is highly commendable. I was disappointed with Ealings second half when we slipped back to last seasons habit of allowing the opposition to score at will. I hope Ben Ward addresses this and realises that we will lose games if we carry on with this attitude.

It should be an opportunity to solidify the defence and take pride in keeping the opposition from scoring.

Much better (and more respectful) imo to see all the scores than just the home team efforts. Awful music seems to be the norm in these things but great to see two Jersey legends Jake Armstrong & Charlie Becket playing so well. Donny will be the team most likely to challenge trailfinders this season and are coming into real form.
