HT Chinnor 14 Rams 7

A nip and tuck first 40 minutes at Kingsey Road with not much between the sides, as reflected In the league table.

Rams taking the lead by turning over a Chinnor scrum and going through 2 phases to score. Chinnor coming back with a strong series of mauls to score, with Bath fly half loanee George Worboys striking a solid conversion.

A second converted Chinnor score before half time to go in with the lead, Rams doing themselves no favours playing with 14 men during that period. Big second half to come, could be a close one.

FT Chinnor 21 Rams 7 (4-0)

Well done Chinnor. Very physical and attritional second half, some solid defence from both sides in a low scoring but enjoyable match. I have a feeling this season is going to go down to the wire, again!

Well done to Chinnor. I expected Rams to win and I also expect Rams to win the league. But......Rams have lost 4 games, which is the same they lost all last season. Not sure what can account for this -- injuries, drop off in form, or have other teams caught up with them. It is certainly a very competitive league!

Good morning all

First of all congratulations to Chinnor on a titanic victory over the excellent Rams last night. Sounded from afar a great game.

It’s Christmas jumpers day at Park Lane today as we take on Birmingham Moseley and its hordes of travelling supporters in our very own titanic battle. Should be a great day on and off the field. KO 14-30.

For those interested here is our online programme for today’s game and the links below that are both sides starting XVs for the game.

I hope you all have a great day today from whatever game you are at and as always hope,  stay injury free.

All the best

A gripping match at Chinnor last night. With most people expecting a basketball scoreline, instead it was the defences that shone as both sides put in a number of big hits.

There were probably two key turning points. In the first half Rams had a 5 metre line-out which they lost control off and were penalised, and Chinnor worked their way downfield via two more penalties to score the equalising try.

Then in the second half the Rams pack won a penalty when Chinnor had the put in 5 metres from their own line, but then Rams surprisingly opted for two tap and drives which Chinnor defended rather than go for another scrum or a 5 metre line-out.

Here is the usual report for anyone interested

Any idea on the official attendance? From my estimation it looked to be well over 1,000 and perhaps up to 1,500 or more? I saw that in the build up it was described by Chinnor as the biggest match in their history.

Sedge 32 (5) Birmingham Moseley 26 (2) Fulltime.

A nice early Christmas present for the Tigers, however it really was a game of two halves. I think most pundits thought there would be nothing in this game and that’s how it turned out.

A great effort from Birmingham Moseley. I hope you have a great night and a safe journey home down the M6.

A very merry Christmas and a happy New Year to you all.

All the best

Can't help thinking we should have bossed this... but you can't take anything away from their physicality. Pretty mild overall yesterday afternoon - but the gritters were out in force at Varitas Park.

Att: 1 300.
