Subject: How many loan players used?

Reading in the Rugby Post today Moseley have signed another 6 players on loan this week?

To go with Coventry’s post last week of 21 going out on loan. Making national 1 a ground for loan players!

It did not work for Lboro the last couple of seasons!

Be interested to see week on week how many loan players are used by each club!

Canterbury v OEs yesterday neither side had anything apart from club members in their ranks, making the loan count 0 for both sides.

What about other games? What was the loan player count ?

Mose, yesterday, 1 I think. And he was DR not loan.

Also, we’ve brought in 9 players this week - 3 signed, *2* loan, and 4 DR to be accurate.

Roth yesterday, just one. From Wasps Academy. Looks very young, plays like he can’t wait to tackle monsters! Hope Wasps don’t want him back too soon as some of our boys were well battered yesterday. Stitches and blood on the nice new kit already.

All the same Billy DR or Loan they are not Moseley members or players!

With the Prem Cup starting next week I wouldn't expect to see too many DR for a bit.

Intouch - I think (?) you're acknowledging that there's a difference between having loan/DR players as a core part of a team, and having them as injury cover as part of a large contracted squad. It's the latter at Mose - though of course there's always space for a loanee/DR to become a star when/if they get the opportunity.

No loan players at Rams as far as I know. In fact the starting 15 featured 13 players from last seasons squad, and one player from another Nat 2 team.

Richmond don't seem to have any loanees or DR players at the moment. There used to be one or two DRs in N1 when we were there before, though.

and we are not likely to have any due to the YC situation

Sorry In touch wasn't being touchy just think it wouldn’t benefit the player to come on loan without there being a chance of game time which is the normal reason for player to be out on loan

What has YC situation got to do with Richmond having any DR's?

Week 3 and note the loan/dr’s seemed to have increased in most sides:

Sale FC fielded a full hand of 4 from Sharks and a winger from Wigan RL

What were the other head counts?

Intouch. Who were the 4 players from SS? Neither of the wingers was from Wigan RL. Where do you get this info from? I'm not being critical - just interested to know where its available.

I'm still at "matching names to faces" stage with most of our squad. He was on the team sheet on Friday, but I don't *think* he played...

Do you know if they are available to you on Saturday (I would hope so) or if they'll be snagged back by Cov for our Nighthawks vs Army game on Saturday?

I don't know if they're not available, but they're not on the teamsheet... Although, as with last week's, that's not necessarily a guide to who's taking to the field tomorrow LOL

Cambridge 5 loan players all from Coventry today against OEs

That’s 1/3 of their starting side today!

Never build a club or side like that, ask Lboro!

Cannot have 5 loans in your side. It’s still 3 and Cov cannot do DRs so something not correct in that statement.

The point being
Is National one a level playing field or is it who had the best relationship with a champ/ prem side

Look at Chinnor

For months pre season we all read what a squad they put together

Yet they have been to the well at Ldn Scottish, and today Irish and Exeter to field a 1st xv

Nat 1 is not about how good your club side is, it’s all about what relationship you have with a full time club!!

That just makes a total mockery of the league

Ampthill won it last year, because Saracens would give then 4/8 players a week!

This is not a dig at any of these clubs,it begs the question, why do clubs do this ?

Coventry Rugby has today confirmed the players who will start 2019/20 on loan at a number of clubs in National Leagues One and Three.

Luc Jeannot, Will Flinn (both Chinnor), Scott Russell (Birmingham Moseley) and David Langley (Cambridge) are senior squad members who will be in National League One.

Meanwhile centre Andy Forsyth will start the season at Leicester Tigers to help the Premiership side during the Rugby World Cup.

Half-a-dozen Development squad players will also be in National League One, namely Kalius Hutchinson, Freddie Betteridge, James Martin, Fin Creighton, Max Titchener (all Cambridge)

Now look up Cambridge team sheet for today

You need to look at what is available for loan or DR at Hull Ionians to understand their predicament. In the frozen North we struggle. It improved a little today with a new boy from Cov who has moved to Hull
