Good to see Sara Cox back at the Mennaye, one of the better Championship refs in our experience.

Maybe for Pirates but I don't believe she's good enough for level 2 rugby, could be worse I suppose as we could've had Dean Richards, now he is poor.

She was excellent a couple of weeks back at Doncaster. Arguably the best Ref seen this season.

Best move her up to the Premiership then
On a serious note, as Dalesman pointed out. She is clearly the best we have seen at Doncaster all year

Predictions: Coventry 1 - 5 Ealing - Ealing too strong I think but should be a great game. Hartpury 1 - 4 Ampthill - low scoring game in prospect but Ampthill on a roll. Bedford 1 - 4 Doncaster - going to be very close but can see Donny nicking it. Jersey 0 - 4 Newcastle - usually a banana skin fixture for the relegated Premiership club but Jersey have been inconsistent this year and they've been patchy at home. I think Falcons will win with relative ease. Cornish Pirates 5 - 1 Nottingham - Pirates to keep up their good home form but Nottingham will play their part In an entertaining game. Leeds 0 - 5 London Scottish - even an out of form LS side won't lose this one. maybe Leeds may get within 25 points this week.

On balance I thought she had a pretty good match at Donny but I wouldn't put her down as the best I've seen this season and for what its worth of the six managing championship matches this weekend I rate three of them higher.

Don't most supporters judge the ref by whether they favour their team or the opposition rather than whether he/she referees to the laws correctly? Or is that just Cov fans...?

The Jersey tackle was neither dangerous or reckless, penalty only. The Doncaster tackle was reckless penalty and a card. Simples
She was clear in her signals, consistent and fair. ALL the Doncaster support around where I sit thought she was the best SEEN at Doncaster all season.

Coventry 1-4 Ealing Trailfinders. Very close to call but Ealing to nick it. Hartpury 1-4 Ampthill. Again very close, but Ampthill to nick it. Bedford 5-2 Doncaster. Perhaps the game of the day with Bedford continuing to improve. Jersey 0-5 Newcastle Falcons. Jersey appear out of salts. Newcastle do not. Cornish Pirates 4-1 Nottingham. CP too good on their own patch. Yorkshire Carnegie 0-5 London Scottish. But I don't think it will be by 50 points.

The Jersey tackle was neither dangerous or reckless, penalty only. The Doncaster tackle was reckless penalty and a card. Simples I don't disagree with your analysis mate but the Donny fans around me on the open terrace literally screamed abuse at the ref to try and procure a card. On the day I actually think the crowd abuse probably saved the Jersey lad from a card as over the years I have found that crowd abuse of refs rarely achieves the objective the hecklers are trying to secure. They pay their money however so I respect their right to express an opinion.

Coventry 0 - 5 Ealing Cov will be disappointed with their league position and it wont improve here Hartpury 1 - 4 Ampthill Amps are not too hot away from home, but will grind it out to go 4th Bedford 5- 0 Doncaster Blues at home to go through the gears against Donny Jersey 0 - 5 Newcastle Falcons truck on, too much experience and nous to let the trip get to them C. Coventry 1 - 4 Ealing Trailfinders - hoping for a home win, but think Ealing’s consistency to win out Hartpury 4 - 1 Ampthill- unlikely to be a try fest, but a home win the result Bedford Blues 5 - 2 Doncaster Knights - recent improved home form to be the key Jersey Reds 0 - 5 Newcastle Falcons - Falcons promotion charge to continue unhindered Cornish Pirates 5 - 0 - Nottingham- Pirates to be too strong on their own patch Yorkshire Carnegie 0 - 4 - London Scottish - the Exiles pack to prove their worth yet again.
Happy rugby watching everyone.

Coventry 0 - 5 Ealing ... Coventry are good at home, but they won't get any advantage from the surface. Ealing's quality to show.
Hartpury 4 - 1 Ampthill ... This will be a really tight game, but I think that the Hartpury defence at home is solid, so a narrow home victory for me.
Bedford 5 - 2 Doncaster ... Game of the week for me. Both teams have hit some form and Donny will take some stopping. However, there is a new resilience surrounding Bedford. Could go either way, but I will go for a high scoring, tight, home win.
Jersey 4 - 1 Newcastle ... Not the form that I wanted Jersey to be in coming into this game, however, the pressure will certainly be off and the wind will be howling. What better stage to show your PL credentials for those Reds players who dream of a step up to the next level. A Pembo drop goal special from his own half to win it.
Cornish Pirates 5 - 0 Nottingham ... Another good game, but Pirates are just too damned good at home. Tough day for the visitors in testing conditions.
Leeds 0 - 5 London Scottish ... Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Coventry 2-5 Ealing - Could go either way but should be game of the season at BPA. Hartpury 2-2 Ampthill Two really well matched teams - brilliant burgers in the BBQ tent if I recall Blues 4-1 Knights Could go either way Jersey 4-1 Falcons Stop laughing - nowt to do with form, the wind will blow in from St Ouens Bay and up the slope second half Jersey will edge it by a single point and Sean will not run out of beer! Howay Jersey! Cornish Pirates 4-1 Nottingham A well contested match but I go for Pirates by 3-4 points. | Nice try Canon!! A very blustery day in the Islands today after heavy overnight rain up until about 8am this morning. Sunny now though. Thank you, Cannon, for making an old man smile on a wet and windy Saturday morning. Your predictions for the first two games were posted two hours after both games had been played, but you still managed to get them wrong. Do you intend to have another go on Monday morning?
And on another note, Ampthill now sit in fourth place with just 8 games to go. And I've just looked at what those eight games are, starting with a stroll in the park "easy" run out against the Pirates next Saturday. Oh dear.
I wouldn't say Ampthill supporters are jittery but I have calculated we still need 7 more points to be safe from relegation.

Similar story from Goldington Road. The new year has brought a far more organised and determined Blues side. Doncaster were never in the game and in normal conditions the score would have been far greater. A special word to the groundsmen, the playing surface was excellent in the circumstances.

Jersey defence was exceptional in that first half but against the gale Falcons just battered the house down. The Falcons backs are probably just as good but the conditions today left them largely out of the game. Well played Jersey for effort and Falcons for power and class. Spot on CC. I will say it now. That was the best team that I have seen against Jersey, in Jersey, in the league EVER.... bar none! Jersey will only have easier games than that from now on.

| I'll agree the best tight five performance I've seen. The starting Falcon's Tight Head had an immense match and then they brought on that Behemoth Rodney Ah-You - that fell into the unnecessary cruelty category in my book particularly when they had Mark Tampin available who looked in great shape anyway. I hate to think what it could have been like if Sam Lockwood had been fit. Jersey did really well to keep the score below 50 points and in my myopic view the two back rows were well matched - Max Argyle in particular had a great game and never took a backward step all day. Ealing will give Falcons a decent game but they are head and shoulders deservedly inked in for promotion.

One of the most convincing wins of try of the week
Loosehead pick up and miss pass to tighthead, tighthead spins it out to Centre with fast hands to No. 8, who draws and one hand offloads to tighthead now running a supporting line, before the Samoan sidestep and offload to wing. This year Blues are certainly getting back to normal.

That one was truly brilliant. I couldn't even vote for the Ealing try this week, and I'd have to challenge the 39% of people who voted for one of the other tries to justify that vote with anything other than homerism.
