Round 1 Predictions

Nottingham 0-5 Ealing - Banker

Amptill 3-3 Donny - 5-2 either way more likely but one of my ties of the round

Cov 5-1 Blues - At Home even without a full house Cov to win in a high scoring match

Hartpury 4-1 Mond Could go either way but Salad to score at least two tries for Students

Pirates 2-5 Sarries I hope it's the other way Howay you Pirates you do well when I predict you to lose.

Jersey to keep a clean sheet and draw the bye Nil points each. Stay safe and support your teams anyway you can.

Round 1 Predictions

Nottingham 0-5 Ealing - Only one winner in this, no matter what squad Ealing field.

Amptill 1-5 Donny - Donny were not bad against a full strength Ealing

Cov 5-2 Blues - Home but with a big number for both on the scoreboard

Hartpury 1- 4 Mond - No love lost with this one, after the way Mond went down to a loaded Hartpury side to get relegated at the end of 18/19 season

Pirates 5-2 Sarries- You may laugh, but just a feeling this could be a slip on the road, no superstars available yet!

Round 1 Predictions

Nottingham 0-5 Ealing - Ealing banker

Amptill 1-5 Donny - Doncaster to do the deed

Cov 5- 1 Cov takes the points

Hartpury 4 - 2 Mond - A guess.....

Pirates 1 - 5 Sarries - would like the Pirates to do it but I doubt it.

Hope we avoid any serious injuries

Enjoy, what we can get from it all. So long as my Donny prediction is correct happy to be wrong on the rest :-)

Round 1 Predictions

Nottingham 0-5 Ealing - Will win most games, have played half a season already

Ampthill 1-4 Donny - As above, Donny are full time and will be too slick

Cov 4-1 Blues - Cov strong at home, Bedford will be exciting but lack forward power to stop the dreaded rolling maul

Hartpury 4-0 Mond - Two quiet teams so far, will depend on imports for H and how ready Richmond are

Pirates 0-5 Sarries - Pirates will be up for it, their Cup Final, and one of Sarries hardest fixtures but now its serious cannot see too many getting close

Round 1 Predictions

Nottingham 0-5 Ealing - Ealing have a huge, professional squad and 9 games of preseason. Even if we have had trouble in Lady Bay in the past, I can't see it this week.

Ampthill 1-4 Donny - Ampthill looked good against an experimental Blues side, but I like the refreshed Donny team from what I saw in the Championship cup.

Cov 5-1 Blues - Cov strong at the Butts, and Blues still trying to get their squad gel based on what happened with Ampthill over the weekend.

Hartpury 1-4 Mond - Richmond kept together a very good core, and I think that they'll be out for revenge.

Pirates 1-5 Sarries - If anyone is going to surprise Sarries, then I think it will be Pirates at the Mennaye during the 6 nations, but I think that they fall just short.

Nottingham 0-5 Ealing - Banker
Ampthill 0-5 Doncaster - Donny too strong
Cov 5-2 Bedford - High scoring game. Bedford’s attack will be as good as anybody’s this season and are capable of winning if keep penalty/error count down and compete at breakdown, but I’m living more in hope than expectation
Hartpury 1-4 Richmond - Most attritional/closest game of weekend. Hartpury have had no pre season. Richmond to edge it.
Pirates 0-5 Sarries - Sorry, don’t think this will be as close as some people predicting. This is proper season now and Sarries will win this comfortably with or without England players. Pirates capable of losing try bonus if Sarries have game sewn up.

Nottingham 0 - 5 Ealing Ealing will want to set their stall out

Ampthill 1 - 5 Donny Could be high scoring

Cov 5 - 2 Bedford Lots of tries in this one

Hart 5 - 1 Richmond. Students(?) full of running

Pirates 1 - 5 By gathering some insider info they put Jersey to the sword and score line didn’t reflection the match. BUT this will be different. Alex Day will give the Sarries boys all the inside info. Saracens to put their own marker down.

Unfortunately also think across the games we will see 3 red cards for high/head tackles

I understand Hartpury had a runout against a Glaws xv the other day.
I tend to agree, having seen them take a decent Cov side apart, that Sarries will be comfortable winners here too.

Ampthill 0-5 Doncaster  Amps lacking grunt up front and missing game breakers behind

Cornish Pirates 0-5 Saracens  Sarries cant afford to slip up so their squad should reflect that

Coventry 5-1 Bedford  Bedford struggled against average Ampthill so Cov off to a flyer

Hartpury 1-4 Richmond  Bargain basement clash so hard to predict

Nottingham 0-5 Ealing Trailfinders should hit their straps comfortably

Being an Ampthill supporter I am probably slightly bias and optimistic, but I am loving how everyone is predicting them to finish either 9th, 10th, or 11th. There is no pressure, no relegation, and ten more games to adjust to this level. Other teams beware. Me. I am loving the ride.

Can’t remember the last time I did the predictions, or indeed post on the forum. Well it’s been that long that I forgot my login details so I’m back on with a slightly altered name, but not much!. Looking forward to the season!.

Predictions:
Nottingham 0 5 Ealing - Trailfinders have set their stall out already with beating Sarries twice, comfy away win.
Ampthill 0 5 Doncaster - By all accounts Donny looked decent in pre-season so I think we should get a good win here.
Coventry 5 2 Bedford - Bedford always good in attack so I expect a points-fest with Cov narrowly squeaking it.
Hartpury 4 1 Richmond - no idea really, a stab in the dark.
Cornish Pirates 4 1 Saracens - First match shocker for fallen giants.

Why not? Don’t have much to do in N2S.

Nottingham 0-5 Ealing
Ampthill 2-5 Doncaster
Coventry 1-4 Bedford
Hartpury 1-4 Richmond
Pirates 1-5 Saracens

Nottingham 4-1 Ealing - Nottingham have nothing to lose, are at home and fresh. Ealing are under huge pressure to challenge Sarries, away from home at a ground where they seldom win and are probably tired after all those pre season matches...
Ampthill 0-5 Doncaster. Donny get the only away win of the round.
Coventry 4-0 Bedford. Cov seem strong and Bedford are a scratch side.
Hartpury 4-1 Richmond. Could go either way so home advantage.
Pirates 5-2 Saracens. Why not? Ealing beat them twice and they won't have their stars.

Nottingham 0-5 Trailfinders - Big win

Amptill 0-5 Knights  - Knights strong this year and a significant pre-season

Coventry 5-1 Blues  - Should be interesting

Hartpury 1-4 Richmond - No idea on this fixture  . . . would like Richmond to right the wrong of two seasons ago.

Pirates 0-5 Saracens - A big win . . no half measures now.

Lets hope for no injuries, no red cards and no French refs :-)

Nottingham 0 Ealing 5 Can't see how a team that's been assembled in the blink of an eye will get anywhere near the ambitious TF's
Ampthill 0 Doncaster 5 Donny been getting ready for this for months!
Coventry 5 Bedford 1 Tryfest!
Hartpury 1 Richmond 4 Lottery game of the round - anything could happen!
Pirates 0 Saracens 5 Much as I would like to say otherwise just can't see Pirates scoring 4 tries or getting within 7 points of Sarries

Admittedly there is still 15 minutes to go but I have just checked. With Hartpury winning 38-10, no-one has forecast a 5-0 points forecast for this fixture. What do we know?

Feel the most happy about getting the Pirates v Saracens result correct!. Massive shot in the arm for Championship rugby and it will do wonders for Pirates as a club. Saracens lost twice to Ealing in pre-season but I think the result today is far more embarrassing for them. That was a team still packed full of top drawer players who by the sounds of it got properly turned over.

We need a couple more teams to do this and then it is all up yours PRL and RFU co-conspirators.

So pleased for Pirates (sorry for doubting you boys)

Apart from Sarries which current Championship teams have facilities satisfactory for promotion?

Posted By: castleparknight
Date Posted: 06 Mar 2021 at 17:47
You overlook alternative facilities e.g. Keepmoat for Donny Knights etc. For clubs who want to go up they do have that as a choice.

We did have plans that would have had Castle Park up to standard by the end of November with Keepmoat approved for use up to then....and I am sure Ealing will have, Pirates may have options....
