Friday 12th
March
18.00 Donny 5-2
Cov Two very well matched teams could go either way
19.45 Blues 2-2
Hartpury Although 4-1 either way probably more likely
Saturday 13th
March
13.30 Sarries 2-5 Jersey Hoping for a great contest with 4 tries each. At Home Sarries favourites
given that Jersey will fly in & out on the day but this is Jersey's cup
final so they will be trying.
14.00 Mond 1-5
Pirates No hangover from Round 1 Pirates will want five points from this
one.
15.00 Ealing 5-2
Amptill Banker for the home team who have a habit of switching off when in
the lead. Amended when I saw the Jersey team sheet - I should have had more faith in the first place - Howay Jersey

Friday 12th March 18.00 Donny 5-1 Cov - Home advantage and Donny have had a preseason 19.45 Blues 1-4 Hartpury Students confident Saturday 13th March 13.30 Sarries 5-0 Jersey Surely? But obviously hoping Reds do something special 14.00 Mond 0-5 Pirates Pirates on a high. 15.00 Ealing 5-0 Amptill Ealing with bit between their teeth

Friday 12th March 18.00 Donny 5-1 Cov - Home advantage and Cov were apparently quite ugly against Blues. 19.45 Blues 1-5 Hartpury I hate to pick against Blues at Goldington Road, but the students thumped Richmond after hanging tight with Gloucester 15. Saturday 13th March 13.30 Sarries 1-4 Jersey Why not? 14.00 Mond 0-5 Pirates Going to London as opposed to the opposite, but Pirates will be buzzing. 15.00 Ealing 5-0 Amptill Ampthill are more composed, with a better run up than Nottingham, but they're on the plastic pitch at Vallis Way, so I'm putting this as a 42 - 21 scoreline.

Doncaster 4-1 Coventry - Close game. Home side to edge it Bedford 5-0 Hartpury - As long as some of our absentees are back, I think this could be the game it clicks Saracens 5-0 Jersey - Lightning can’t strike twice in 2 weeks can it Richmond 0-5 Pirates - Unless Pirates are still on a high and lose focus Ealing 5-0 Ampthill - Banker

Predictions: Doncaster 4 v 1 Coventry - These are the kind of matches that we need to win to show progress Bedford 4 v 1 Hartpury - Blues to sneak a close one. Saracens 5 v 1 Jersey - This will be VERY interesting, another blip or a backlash?. Can’t see Sarries losing at home but Reds will keep them honest. Richmond 0 v 5 Pirates - week 1’s heroes will back it up as long as they are focused on the job. Ealing 5 v 1 Ampthill - big home win but Amps to get a couple of late tries for a try BP.

Doncaster 4 Coventry 1 Doncaster has had the benefit of more pre season matches
Bedford 1 Hartpury 4 Hartpury were excellent in the first half on Saturday, but Mond were rusty Didn't look as good in the second. Still likely to win, though. Saracens 5 Jersey 0 Based on relative performance against CP
Richmond 1- Cornish Pirates 4 Hoping for a CP reaction. Mond have some good players and will play much better as they adjust. Ealing 5 Ampthill 0. Ealing flying on the cricket pitch

Doncaster 4-0 Coventry. Donnie looked an OK side at Ampthill and will be better on home turf. Coventry were seemingly poor against Bedford. Bedford 4-1 Hartpury. I've watched Bedford twice so far. They will soon click. Saracens 5-0 Jersey. Saracens will be hurting after last week. Richmond 0-5 Cornish Pirates. Pirates should be on a roll. Ealing 5-1 Ampthill. I cannot see the As winning this, or keeping within 7 points, but I can see them scoring 4 tries.

Doncaster 4-1 Coventry: Could go either way but home advantage should count Bedford 0 - 5 Hartpury: Glous 2s look stronger than Northampton 2s on last weeks showing Saracens 5 - 1 Jersey: Bounce back time and Jersey off the pace Richmond 0-5 Pirates: Richmond out gunned last week, to workman like, not enough quality and the same will apply this Ealing 5-0 Ampthill: Ealing to slowly move through the gears

Bedford are riddled with injuries/suspension/unavailability in the forwards with 6 players who would be in contention for starts not available, in addition to a few backs (one of which could’ve covered flanker). So we have 2 hookers and 3 props on the bench, and an 18 year older tight head starting (with another 18 year old to back him up). So less confident than I was initially... Backs look good though if they get the ball!

I’ll take two ugly wins to start with. Hopefully we’re now building the confidence up. We lost the equivalent two fixtures last season so I’m pleased. I’m not expecting miracles this season, hopefully a steady top half finish.

Getting an old grunt in the front row helped (lots of kids in the side having lost a lot of experience from last season) and having the benefit of a stiff breeze in the second stanza didn't hurt. Happy with a point. Four woulda been nicer.

Disagree that it was a red.
Blues will be kicking themselves for not getting the BP. Blues did their best to throw it away. The Hartpury maul got them back into the game and had a few opportunities but failed with the final pass.
