Signing Seb Scott is a good move. He looked a good player in his few chances at Chinnor.

Adam Hakimian leaves TJs for Henley who are in the same league. Quite interesting.

Hakimian and Bridger were both at TJs. Neither played very much. Came off bench now and then. 7s players I believe.

Hakimian is a basian international. Fell out of favour with the coaching staff.

There will be a number of 7s players at National 2 level next year - probably the smaller leagues and limited commute a big factor.

Is this move still on? The link isn't working, that's all. Good player who looked at home in the Championship when he played for Jersey in truncated 2020/21 campaign in April/May last year. Next thing I knew he had dropped 2 levels and was playing for Roth against Dale on opening day last September. Did he do the whole season at Clifton Lane?

Jed Walsh was in the side last year, he is now in the England under 20's squad, no idea if any more are likely, L'boro students had quite a few last year, be interesting now they are both in the same league along with Hinckley as well.

Leicester Lions new signing Luke Bouchier

Luke signs for the Lions from Nottingham Trent where he captained the university's 1st team. Luke is an outside half but at 6'2'' is also very comfortable at inside centre. He formerly represented England Counties U18's and U20's as well as his university side in the Bucs Super Rugby competition.

Head coach Gareth Collins commented: ''I'm really pleased to have got Luke on board with us. He came highly recommended and I was impressed by his attitude when I met him. He will add good competition for the outside half position and give us some more options in our midfield. I'm excited to see what he can bring to our group.''

Luke commented: ''I am excited to sign for the Lions this season. They are a team with a bright future and I look forward to challenging myself at a new level and hopefully help the team achieve their goals.''

With most clubs back to pre-season training, there must have been a lot of activity in N2E. With teams so relatively close I would love to hear from anyone with News. Canterbury, Tonbridge Judds, Blackheath, Sevenoaks, Dorking and Worthing are all within shouting distance of each other and will all be hoping to start well. The silence is deafening....

Leicester Lions new signing

Seyi Ajeigbe signs from Westcliff where he had an impressive campaign last season in National 2 South. Seyi is lightning fast and can step off both feet. He represented London & SE U18's and more recently played for Germany U20's.

Head coach Gareth Collins commented: ''Seyi is a player with X-factor so I'm delighted to have him involved this year. He trained with us during the 2020/21 season that never happened and really impressed us with his speed and running ability. He joined Westcliff whilst he took a year away from his studies last season but we stayed in contact and I was impressed by the footage I saw of him and indeed when he played against us.''

Seyi commented: ''I am delighted to start a new chapter of my career at the Lions. Hopefully I can help the team achieve some silverware and make my teammates and the supporters proud.''

No. it seems I am! I realised I had used info from Statbunker which is hopelessly out of date Happy to correct that according to GMS he had 16 starts, 3 sub appearances and scored 4 tries.

Apologies and red face - unlike Boris!!

Leicester Lions new signing prop Tom Williams

Tom began his National League career with Leicester Lions in 2010, playing 96 games across four seasons before pursuing a full-time rugby career by moving to Bedford in the Championship. Following three seasons there he moved to Rotherham Titans who were also in the Championship. Most recently he signed for Blackheath in National One as a player/coach where he has been for the last four years. Tom was also capped by England Counties in 2019 when he toured Georgia with the National League representative side.

Tom joins the Lions as a player/assistant coach and will assist lead forwards coach Dale Ager with the forwards.

Head Coach Gareth Collins commented: ''I am delighted to have got Tom back on board with us. He joined the club in 2010 when I was captain and I was impressed by his ability from day one. He is a consummate professional and it was no surprise that he's had such a successful career. He's a renowned scrummager but also has a very good rugby brain. He thinks deeply about the game and will be a great addition to both our playing and coaching group.''

Tom commented: ''After a few conversations with my old captain Gaz, and listening to his passion and ambition for the club, coming home to the Lions became an opportunity that I couldn't pass up. I was excited by the foundations for success that he has clearly already laid and I'm looking forward to getting involved and pulling the jersey on again.''

Canterbury, Tonbridge Judds, Blackheath, Sevenoaks, Dorking and Worthing are all within shouting distance of each other and will all be hoping to start well. The silence is deafening....

From a chat with an ex player, i understand Dorking have signed (their words)

1 South African, an army player & they will also have a couple players also on D/R from Quins

Nothing official released to the membership at the moment other than adding Dylan Armytage to the coaching staff. Rumour has it that a lot of players have joined and that competition is intense with large numbers at pre season training. Dorking have 2 pre-season friendlies away at Stourbridge RFC on 13th August and Sutton & Epsom at home on 20th August.

Rian Hamilton (Back 3) leaves Wharfedale for Cambridge.

Superb player; elusive runner who'll take some replacing. Hope to see him flourish in Nat 1.

LIONS SIGN FORMER CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYER GEORGE WATKINS

The former Bristol, Cardiff Blues, Leeds Carneige and Jersey Reds man joins the Lions for 2022/23

George is a powerful centre/wing with a wealth of experience as a professional rugby player. He is also a prolific try scorer who burst on to the scene for Bristol in 2010 scoring 10 tries in 20 appearances in his first season in the Championship. He went on to play 89 games for the club, scoring 51 tries, before having spells at Moseley, Leeds and Jersey in the Championship along with one season with Cardiff Blues in the Rabodirect PRO 12.

George joins from Hong Kong where he was a player/coach at Kowloon Rugby Club and also played for South China Tigers, the professional team of Hong Kong. George joins the Lions as a backs player/assistant coach where he will assist head coach Gareth Collins and backs coach Lloyd Warner in coaching the back line.

Head Coach Gareth Collins commented: ''We are delighted to have secured the services of such a high profile player as George and it is testament to what we have built and achieved over the last three years which means we can attract such a player. When I met George I was immediately impressed by his outlook on the game and how passionately he spoke about it. He is very much aligned to our vision so I'm sure his experience will help us kick on from where we are. I've been impressed with his attitude and high skill level in training and am excited to see him thrilling the Westleigh faithful.''

George commented: ''I'm really excited to join up with such a promising squad and a club who are in a great position to challenge following a strong finish to last season. I can already see the potential of the squad in training and I'm looking forward to seeing what we can do this season.''

Congratulations. It's certainly a testament the amount of money Lions are willing to invest and well done to them. Or him. As for the Westleigh faithful..... they'll probably both be happy.

I've been to Blaby on a few occasions, and there was more people inside the pitch boundaries than outside! Not on its own l might add, other venues have the same issues attracting spectators.

Gates have increased a bit since being in South league, especially last year when Lions had a good winning streak. With other clubs grounds very close, Leicester Vipers less than half a mile away for example, the rugby fans not at Welford Road watching the Tigers are spread a bit thin.

Assuming this was a response to my earlier postโ€ฆ when I referred to a higher level I was suggesting more championship or even premiership level.
