https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/64094933" rel="nofollow - WRU have approved 12 a side fixtures so clubs can fulfil fixtures

Itt seems that although there have never been more registered players, games are being cancelled because clubs cannot field a team.

I don't follow the game in Wales, but this caught my eye - I assume you just lose the back row.

Perhaps they could play 12, 13, 14 or 15 players if both agree. Strange but very sad - or is it a governing body taking a pragmatic view?

Not exactly ground breaking FHLH - the RFU initiated the "Game On" protocol a few seasons ago and it's being used at the lower league levels to get games played even if you can only muster 10 players

I remember playing for Wigston Old Boys 5th team with a three man pack and full back line, cohazelnut rugby it was called and believe or not we beat a team of 14. Regularly swapped players to get a match on and often played with a player from each team do a half each as the ref didn't turn up, didn't need anybody's permission we just got on with it.

No league games or merit tables. Just 30ish guys wanting to knock s h I T out of each other and then have a few beers . It didn’t matter who won, we would meet on the same Saturday next year and try again.

It's nice to see the clubs rise and inevitable some will fall, but it's more important that people play the game because they love the game, my son played and I kinda hope at least one of my grandkids will too.
