Doesn't help playing with 14 men for a chunk of the game.

Should add that Stags 3 x yellow cards and a red (2 yellows) didn’t help their cause.

I like the idea of these rest weeks, as it is a visible sign by the RFU it is aware of player welfare. Although i wonder if any 1st teamers were on the team sheet of 2nd XVs last week?
The older I get, the more the RFU leave me confused.

I would guess that if any, they would not have been regulars, but maybe fringe, players coming back from injury and/or possible new signings.

Depends on the leagues. I know some of the merit leagues also had rest weeks last week

Halfway stage, everyone has played everyone, what are peoples thoughts on the league?

WP clearly look strong. Pleased to see TW performing well this year, shame to see Sidcup and Medway down the bottom struggling a bit.

Outside of Kent, surprised how Hertford have performed, usually strong at this level. Tring have had an excellent season so far

WP look to have it in the bag, it was a privilege to watch them in the last 5 minutes at Cow lane, it was a master class in snatching a victory and seeing a game out. Tring regularly fielding 9/10 home grown, and recently 15 out the 18, think this has a lot to do with how well they have done. Hertford suffering from players leaving for various reasons through the summer, and now re-building, they'll be back for sure! Injuries though out the league is the biggest worry, to many compared to leagues not that long ago, not sustainable.

Hertford look like they'll be tough at home with their crowd behind them !

Think the league is evenly matched certainly a lot of sides that can play if they get the chance !

Aside from the one massive scoreline difference between Bedford and Hertford, roughly half of the games so far have resulted in winning margins between 1 and 14 points. Couple that in with the average points per game  around the 45/46 mark, it makes this league very competitive as well as entertaining to watch. There is some great rugby being played out there from all sides, and the only difference that I have noticed is that some can do it more consistently than others, but if you are a little off your game, it smells trouble.
A great hotchpotch of old and new adversaries also adds to the intrigue and enjoyment.

The older I get, the better I was.

It's so tight at the foot of the league.

We were fortunate last season with no relegations. We had a tough season and I've got every sympathy for those battling it out this year.

TW were very strong defensively yesterday, but it was far from being an easy day at the office. Hertford really don't play like a team in 12th. 0-0 at halftime, and it was a gutsy performance from us rather than a weak performance from Hertford that saw us take the points.

WP are still grinding out the results at the top, but other than that almost any team can beat any other in this league.

It's an interesting season.

I believe it's 2 down from our league, and it may well go to the final game of the season. The current bottom 3 all have identical records, so bonus points could hold the key, but wins are the precious commodity. One of the last day's fixtures is Hertford v Medway but who knows what may happen before then ?
What do the coaches do ?
Is there a scenario whereby a team may rest certain key players who are carrying niggling injuries if, for example, they are playing away against a team in the top 3 and the week after are playing at home to a team they consider must be beaten ?
Such an intriguing league.

Hi Bruce,

It's so frustrating as we know we can be better than 12th but Lady Luck just refuses to shine some light on us and our very young squad.

My impression is that the yellow card swung it your way but as I was shopping with the Boss at the time don't really know.

Big local derby next weekend...5 points there would be very welcome.

2 yelllows to 1 over the course of the match.

Time down to 14 men never helps. I'm not sure it made a massive difference, but then I watch a match through the lens so my perception is a little different to most!

I'd be amazed if you don't pick up some wins very soon. You normally know why 12th is 12th when you play them. I really couldn't figure it out on Saturday.

All the best to you for the rest of your season.
