PRL have agreed a cut to the salary cap of £1.4M for next season. My take is that this is a good thing for the championship. At the very least, it slightly levels the playing field/closes the gap between level 1 and 2. It may also lead to less stockpiling of players by the prem. I was hoping for a bigger cut.

Not quite.....agreed to reduce by £1.4 million......so the salary cap is still £6 million which is a way beyond any Championship club......also don't forget the £600k for academy players too!

Actually the cap is reduced from £7m to £5.6m incl the 600k academy credits - from 2021-22.
This will be the level until the end of 2023-24. The marquee player exception to be reduced from 2 to 1 from 2022-23 onwards |
