Premiership Rugby agrees new TNT Sports deal to 2031

Quote
Premiership Rugby has agreed a new long-term television deal with broadcaster TNT Sports that will take it up to the end of the 2030-31 season.

The previous agreement with TNT Sports, which was signed last March, runs up to the end of the 2025-26 season.

As part of the deal, every match of the Premiership Rugby season - including the play-offs and final - will continue to be televised live on TNT Sport's linear TV channels or streamed on its Discovery+ service.

Selected ties of the Premiership Rugby Cup will also be televised, along with at least one match in every round of the Premiership Women's Rugby season until the end of 2028-29.

"This extended partnership allows both parties to invest in the long-term growth of the Gallagher Premiership and we are very excited about the future," said Premiership Rugby's chief executive officer Simon Massie-Taylor.

"Our recent partnership with TNT Sports has helped drive record audiences and attract a million new fans to the Gallagher Premiership, alongside drawing record crowds and a second sold-out final in a row."

After 13 rounds of the current Premiership Rugby campaign, TNT Sports has reported an 11% rise in average audiences to the previous season, when the broadcaster also televised or streamed every league game.

Premiership Rugby signed a two-year extension to a deal with ITV in October to broadcast seven matches a season, including the final, free-to-air. That also included the rebranded highlights show Gallagher Premiership Unleashed.

Meanwhile, TNT Sports says it saw an 86% year-on-year increase in season average audiences for Premiership Women's Rugby (PWR).

Genevieve Shore, executive chair of PWR, said: "The extension of our partnership with TNT Sports is a huge step forward for Premiership Women's Rugby.

"The huge rise in viewing figures last season shows the potential of PWR, and together with TNT Sports, we will continue to grow women's rugby."
