John Butler retires

What an innings by John B. People of his standing in the game can't be replaced, I would argue, as their standing dates from another era that simply doesn't exist today. But hopefully there might be recent entrants to the arena who might eventually get somewhere close to matching him...

For your information I do not vote Tory or Reform and have sympathy for some of Lineker's views but that wasn't the point I was making of course. Perhaps it is you who should not bring your politics on here?

I started this thread to pay a small tribute to a stalwart of the game and a friend to many.
