I wonder what those tickets will cost.

I hope and believe that the forthcoming Champ season will be a far better all round spectacle than those of late.

Worcester, Ealing and Donny will be the top 3 and the matches between all three could/should be corkers. If Worcester don't take the title then I hope Donny do, given that they have actually invested in their ground/club to make the step up to elite club rugby in The P.r.e.m.

At the other end, the eventual bottom 3 candidates could not be further from the clubs at the top end. The disparity across the board in facilties, squad etc is more stark than perhaps any other league in rugby (or any other sport) in England.

Having said that, their could well be some entertaining scraps between Chinnor, Caldy, Cambridge and Richmond. With the safety net of no relegation finally removed, those who have been on borrowed time the last few seasons will have to deliver (including away games).

The playoff feature with Nat 1 adds an additional layer of interest and on their day, could the big beasts of Rotherham, Rosslyn Park, Moseley, Rams or Albion turn over the Champ stragglers? I would say yes they could.

Oh anyone but Moseley please.

We've been in the same league  a few times over the years, I was at the final game at Reddings Lane.

Great old club, great history, went bust...well there's a thing eh?

But the battle cry "Come on Mose" in a flat monotonic Brummie accent is so hard to live with.

Feeling's mutual Ted, I'd rather Moseley stay in Nat 1 than have to put up with your lot visiting the Common based on the last time you visited us.

I'd be very happy for Mose to come up. A proper derby again, at last.

One leg (probably at the Champ ground, I would imagine, but not certain).

The “Access Final” as they’re calling it, is definitely 1 leg. What isn’t explained, in either the Champ announcement or the National Leagues review, is where that game will be played.
Which is what I said.
I'm guessing at the venue being the Champ club's ground as that way they can guarantee it meets C minimum standards (such as they are).

As I read it, the Nat 1 club must also have met C standards otherwise the game can’t go ahead. Are we really saying the same thing in slightly different words?

I’m easily confused.

I confess, perhaps wrongly, that I would relish the thought of playing in National One - there is a satisfactory balance of playing skills and facilities across the piste.
