I hope and believe that the forthcoming Champ season will be a far better all round spectacle than those of late.

Worcester, Ealing and Donny will be the top 3 and the matches between all three could/should be corkers. If Worcester don't take the title then I hope Donny do, given that they have actually invested in their ground/club to make the step up to elite club rugby in The P.r.e.m.

At the other end, the eventual bottom 3 candidates could not be further from the clubs at the top end. The disparity across the board in facilties, squad etc is more stark than perhaps any other league in rugby (or any other sport) in England.

Having said that, their could well be some entertaining scraps between Chinnor, Caldy, Cambridge and Richmond. With the safety net of no relegation finally removed, those who have been on borrowed time the last few seasons will have to deliver (including away games).

The playoff feature with Nat 1 adds an additional layer of interest and on their day, could the big beasts of Rotherham, Rosslyn Park, Moseley, Rams or Albion turn over the Champ stragglers? I would say yes they could.
