Hi everyone.

I am afraid I have some bad news.

It’s highly unlikely I will be posting tomorrow as my Father in Law passed away last night at the grand old age of 99, just 3 and a half months before his 100th Birthday, which we wanted so much for him to attain.

He is a WW2 veteran having served in the Navy mainly in the far east/South Africa/ Ceylon (as it was known then) and numerous other places between 1942-45. He was a real live history book, and one of a diminishing band of survivors from that era

My beloved wife & son are crestfallen, as am I so my family has to come first.

I hope that for this l week that my friends on here can keep the  updates ticking over.

As always, good luck to all teams.

Thank you.

Sad news RM2, he sounds like he lived a full life. Condolences to your family.

I won't be at any Nat 1 games tomorrow but will try and post score updates via twitter where I can if that helps.

Hope Rotherham get a win for you at Rams, it could be quite a battle but Rotherham have shown a lot of grit across the season and are still up there with Richmond.

Sad news indeed. My condolences.
There is a parallel with my own father in law who died during the first Covid lockdown (not of it). He was just over two months short of his ton, but sadly my wife couldn't see him at all for the last couple of months of his life due to the home being locked down. She's really never got over it.
Hopefully your old boy was able to be comforted by his daughter at the end.
Best wishes.

No matter what age it comes, death always comes too soon.
Those of us who have grown up in relative peace cannot imagine the courage that generation showed.

Condolences to you and all your family.

That is a great effort Nat1.

Some interesting choices in the BS line-upLOL. Wondering which position the player pictured plays in the listed BS team?

Hopefully it will put a smile on Rothman's face at this sad time.

Todays results.

Leicester Lions v Sale FC

31-37 Leicester 2 pts Sale 5pts

Sedgley Park T. v Richmond

26-50 Sedge 1pt Richmond 5

Birmingham Moseley v Darlington MP

69-14 Mose 5 pts Darlington 0

Bishops Stortford v Esher

50-28 Bishops 5pts Esher 1

Dings Crusaders v Blackheath

26-43 Dings 1 pt Blackheath 5pts

Plymouth Albion v Rosslyn Park

24-30 Albion 1 pt Park 5 pts

Rams v Rotherham Titans

30-19 Rams 5pts Roth 0 *

* Rotherham had a chance to get 2 BP but dropped the ball over the line unopposed. No matter. If anyone had told us at the start of the season we would be where we are after 23 games then I think we would have all settled for that.

Well played Rams and Champions Elect Richmond.

Roth still second but only on games won. Richmond 10 pts ahead.

Not the result we wanted. Well done Old Gold & Richmond and again thanks to OG and everyone else on this board for your wonderful support regarding my father in law.

All the best everyone & thanks again.

An outstanding game of rugby, as is so often the case decided by small margins.

The Rotherham drop with the line at their mercy a particularly key moment, but they are an excellent team who deserve to be near the top.

I managed to get to Stortford today. Great game of rugby with both teams playing an attacking game.

Stortford had a bit more quality and ended up deserved winners.

Had a couple of lads with me today who have never watched a rugby match before and they enjoyed the game. Great advert for national 1 and rugby in general.

Commiserations to Rotherham today - it would have been good to have the Derby back next season but doesn’t look like it’s going to be. Having said that, you can’t take anything away from Richmond. To only lose 2 games in 23 in this league with how ferociously competitive it is, is something to be very proud of - and assuming they get over the line then they will have thoroughly deserved the title. It would be some form of sporting justice if Richmond get back in the Championship because the way they were relegated two years ago was an absolute shambles with London Harlequins escaping the drop only by packing their team with Premiership loan players for the last few games having been abysmal all season.

There is still a chance that Worcester will fail to find the money to pay Steve Diamond, leaving a space for a second Nat 1 side.

Also, there are still three tough rounds.

But it is Richmond's to lose.
If they make it they will deserve the title, not as free scoring as Chinnor or Cambridge, but like Caldy, they do not concede many points.

But it looks like two trips to the RAG for the Championship next season, and maybe more if you draw them in the Champ Cup.
