Hartpury 5-0 L Scottish. Home advantage to rule.
Nottingham 4-1 Ampthill. The As run came to an end and I think they will toil at Nottingham.
Doncaster 4-1 Pirates. Two teams who have under-achieved this season. It could go either way. Should be very watchable though.
Bedford 1-5 Jersey. Only because I hope Jersey keep up the pressure on Ealing right up to the end.
Ealing 5-0 Caldy. Ealing will want revenge on their defeat at Caldy.
Richmond 0-5 Coventry. The away side to wrap up a bonus point win and deservedly secure third spot in the league.

No club is as good as Pirates in the streaming stakes. I am a regular watcher and consider the £7 to be an absolute bargain - it even includes a free replay.Beer

Perhaps the Pirates presenters might be a little less biased I believe that many away supporters watch with the sound off!!

I agree they are biased, however in their defence they aren’t broadcasting for the away team’s support but for their own.

Hartpury 1 - 4 Quins . . I expect a fully loaded Quins team to eek out a win
Nottingham 4-1 Ampthill . . Home advantage
Doncaster 5-2 Pirates . . again home advantage, two really good teams on their day, should be a cracker
Bedford 2-5 Jersey . . MOTD . . some great rugby, a massive crowd . . . this is what it is all about
Ealing 5-0 Caldy . .  the carpet will suit the flat track bullies
Richmond 0-5 Coventry . . . . Mond desperate for a point but I cannot see it against one of the very best in the Championship, done and dusted by half time.

Run with it

Glos 4- 1 Quinn’s … This will be tight and could go either way, but I feel that the Glos 2nds will have the game from the bench.
Nottingham 4-1 Ampthill … I keep on backing Nottingham to win and they always lose (sorry boys) but I think that they could win what will be a very entertaining game. It will be close though.
Doncaster 5-2 Pirates … Great game this. Two Championship giants to slug out a try fest. Knights to just steal the loot from the Pirates
Bedford 2-5 Jersey … 2 totally different styles here. Jersey will be happy to win ugly as it is a must win game. If Bedford have a pack who can give their backs some ball it should be a cracker. Sadly The Reds will have to put away the flair finishing this week and resort to boring boring Jersey to get the win.
Ealing 5-0 Caldy … Caldy to get the best double at this level?…. No, me neither! Very happy to be proved wrong though.
Richmond 1-5 Coventry… Cov are a quality side, but Mond just need league points. If I were them I would forget the win and go for as many 5 pointers as they can. Attack, attack, attack!!

The commentators are a hoot and don't seem to even watch the game they are reporting on. if Radio Cornwall are covering it I listen to them with the sound off. I get my pasties from John Hackett who do a legendary Jamaican Jerk effort.

Well, IMHO that back line is as good (if not the best) as any in the division - whether they get enough ball on the other hand.......Ermm

Fully agree a brilliant back line - put them behind Jersey's pack and they would trouble many of the teams in the premiership.

Hartpury 5-0 London Scottish - I have apparently annoyed some London Scottish fans by saying that they should be relegated. I'm going to continue saying that until they start winning some games (5 wins in the last 4 seasons). They aren't getting one this weekend either.
Nottingham 1-4Ampthill - Nottingham faded from about week 4 onwards.
Doncaster 5-2 Pirates - rebuilding years for both teams, I'll just go for the home team.
Bedford 5-1 Jersey - Bedford have a 'never say die' spirit this year, and I think that they could turn Jersey over on a final play score.
Ealing 5-0 Caldy - Revenge on the Ravers.
Richmond 0-5 Coventry - Not 'monds year.

This would be close to our best team, Curran at 7 is missing and Frost would play 6 instead. Onajaife and Arthur are also injured/suspended. Part of me wants Blues to win the other Jersey to set up the grand finale!

Ealing putting out a strong team. A few surprises for me:

1. Bobby De Wee still isn't in the side. I'd find some way to get him in.
2. Nathan Earle at 11 is a bit of a shock as he hasn't looked great so far.
3. Surprised that our new lock from Bath isn't on the field. Would have been a very good game to rotate him in from the bench. If not now, then when?

Ditto TB (apart from the wanting Bedford to win bit). Both TJ Harris and Scot VB are fit again and can’t break into the match day 23. This is very close to our strongest 23 with some firepower to come off of the bench, as CC mentioned.
That’s the way that we want every game to be. Our best against your best and may the best team win…. Beer afterwards!
Good luck all

Bobby seems out of favour at the moment, maybe his disciplinary record is working against him. Nathan broke his arm in the cup match in Jersey and has only been back in full training for 10 days or so. Lewis Boyce (loosehead prop from Bath) is in full training so we may see him before the end of the season. Hope that helps...

I agree on Bobby having disciplinary issues, but he still has too much talent not to play. Indeed, Boyce is a prop, my bad. Still not many games left. I hope Earle plays up to his potential.

De Wee is a proper rugby player who never steps back. I would pick him in my Championship team of the year and back in the day when I played I would want him beside me if it got rough.

Ealing 14 (2T) - Caldy 7 (1T) - 17'  First two minutes were a clinic from Ealing, who looked like the Harlem Globetrotters. Then just inches from the tey line they spilled it. The next 15 were all Caldy, and they scored agter Craig Hampson threw a pass into the pylon. Ealing then scored quite quickly fro. The restart.

It was very close at Castle Park, but the Pirates boys put in a massive defensive shift and every man gave it 100%. It was a hugely physical game - there'll be a lot of battered and bruised bodies after that. Very proud of the effort the whole squad put in. Lovely to have a chat with Maliq Holden after the game (former Pirate) - he scored what looked like the winning try, but we worked our way upfield, got the try and Bazalgette nailed a difficult conversion. Near the end we were penalised (very harshly IMO) at a scrum and the ensuing penalty kick went very close. Fine margins.

Having seen the top 2 back to back, I thought Jersey should edge the big one. However it will be a good game between 2 decent teams.

Pleased the late penalty was missed as Blues deserved a point and edged them a little closer to 4th with Pirates not getting the 5.

Fully agree it would have been a travesty if blues took no points from a brilliantly competitive game they contributed so much to. Huge pity we can't look forward to play offs including Cov & Blues - 4 quality teams who wouldn't want to see those games? I see that Wayne Barnes is earmarked for the game at St Peter next Saturday - Howay Jersey pack the ground out, bang the boards, ring the cow bells and make some noise the RFU cant ignore.

It's going to be a big occasion - will it be streamed, I'd love to watch it?

There is nothing confirmed for Reds v ET stream, but I'd like to think a way will be found to make the game available - watch this space.

I agree that a LBP was the very least Bedford deserved from yesterday... altho' part of me hoped the last-kick pen would be successful just to be able to trot out the stat about Reds landing their 3rd penalty in 20 games!

And very tight at the bottom - amazing that both 11th/12th in Champ and 1st/2nd in Nat 1 could be decided on the 'most draws' tie-breaker

What is even more amazing is that whoever wins next week’s top of the table clash and probably goes on to win the Championship will not be promoted, as they most definitely deserve to be, and that whoever wins next week’s bottom of the table clash and then probably finishes last, does not 100% know that they will be relegated or not.

Old hat, I know, but it makes me so angry.

I am genuinely amazed that BT, Sky or Amazon haven't offered to cover this match - I know there is a cost overhead of getting the equipment to the Island but Channel TV managed to livestream the Siam Cup match in Guernsey a year of so back. Hopefully ticket sales to watch at the ground are going well its a brilliant atmosphere when Jersey have a 16th man roaring them on. The Caldy 2nds tourists should have finished their lunch by kick off time and be in great voice.

I would imagine Caldy 2s (WOLWAOTB) will be consuming regular intakes of 'lunch' before, during and after the Reds v ET game - either that or they besmirch the Ravers' long-established reputation! Big smileBeer

We also have a touring U11’s side over as well who are bringing 40 parents plus players and coaches, all of which will be at the game. Should be a cracking atmosphere

Drama at the end of Richmond v Cov, which could have been v different. Rich's right wing intercepted what would have been a game-deciding, try-scoring pass (to take Cov 24-13 ahead with about 3 mins to play) about 7 metres from his line, juggled it then ran 93 metres to score.

This took the score to 18-19 in Cov's favour, but the winger, who was being chased hard throughout his sprint, for some reason did not go under the sticks when he could have done and touched down about 15m to the right of the posts. Still not a tough conversion, but Rich's very inexperienced sub fly-half missed it.

So instead of leading 20-19 and protecting a lead, Rich were pushing in the last couple of minutes to get a winning score, conceded a penalty and lost by 4 points. Had they scored 7 on that intercept, they would have been trying to play out the last couple of minutes for the win, a result which would have almost certainly made them safe from relegation (i.e. a seven point gap over Scottish with two games left, including next week's now do-or-die derby).

Just goes to show what difference a cool head and experience can make in a game. And a season.

Pack them in mate for the biggest game we should see more than 2,000 at St Peter for a proper contest between the best squad in the league and Jersey. There will probably be a few more for the Siam Cup in a few weeks time but if these games don't prove how crazy it would be for Jersey to build a stadium for five times that number I don't know what would. Jersey have hosted numerous premiership clubs in the last few years as well as international teams and no one has complained about the hospitality or facilities. Ealing are the best squad in the league this season by a country mile but by luck and tenacity Jersey have clung onto their tails. Whoever wins next Saturday should be welcomed by the premiership and the rfu as a breath of fresh air and its their loss if they cant see it.

If only - as you say it is simply daft to expect clubs to build stadia that will seldom, if ever, be full. If your stadium holds 5,000 and you sell 5,000 tickets for every home game that is fine. If, occasionally, there is going to be a need for more simply hold that game in a bigger stadium - just like Quins once in a while.
The game between Jersey and Ealing is an exciting prospect, but imagine what it would be like if the prize for the winners is promotion. As you say, whoever wins the league should be promoted - and whoever finishes bottom of the Prem should be relegated. Any other scenario is simply ring fencing by default.

weird one this - just watched back. 'Mond wing is chased all the way, and he does ease off once over 22, but still running towards posts and touches down - knackered - no more than a crossbar's width (5.5m) to right of the posts. Unless it's an optical illusion, the (right-footed) kicker then seems to tee up the ball 3/4/5m further out from where it was touched down. And misses...

Maybe a little simplistic to call it 'game deciding' with such certainty.  I've seen countless penalties given away by teams trying to protect a lead and Cov were pushing hard at that point.  All ifs and buts of course, fact is Cov were desperately off their game - in no small part down to the Richmond defence.
Looking forward to seeing the highlights as I thought Richmond went off their feet to secure the ball that led to the winger's try, but I'd had a few Guinness's and I'm a tad biased Smile

Just watched it and probably legal in hindsight, if a little 'long'... Red card all day if Karl Dickson was reffing though.
