End of season mayhem at the Mennaye as Pirates score 5 tries, all converted by departing fly half Bruce Houston, to beat Notts with 6 tries (5 in the first half) of which they converted 2. In addition Notts missed two penalties in the last five minutes as the ref decided the previously dominant Pirates scrum had somehow lost its mojo. Some great tries in the first half from the visitors but a young Pirates side just do enough to finish fourth after a truly up and down campaign.

Notts missed the final penalty because of terrible sportsmanship from the Pirates fans!!! Woman with an air horn next to us continually blowing it and also a section of the Pirates fans who refused to keep quiet while poor Jai Johal was trying to take his kick. Craig Hammond was furious and the stewards just stood and watched! Left a very sour taste in my mouth
