Looks like the Rams v Chinnor match on Friday is going to live streamed and freely available to watch on the NCA website.

Let's all keep our fingers crossed for no Omicron outbreaks .....

Rams 4 Chinnor 1
Both teams are starting to tire and the break can't come quick enough - I suspect home advantage
with maybe 800 - 900 spectators under the Friday night lights will be a factor.

BS 4 C 1
Although Cambridge will be riding high after their deserved win against Park BS are also on a high after their win at Chinnor. The home side to edge it.

Park 5 TJ 0

Cindy 5 BM 0
Cindy can't afford any more lapses away from home and BM are a welcome visitor to offer some early Christmas presents after last weeks loss at Darlington. Nothing like a home fixture before Christmas with a two week rest after to steady the ship.

Leeds 4 DMP 1
Very tricky to predict - Leeds are starting to get their act together and I have a hunch they will edge this.

Park 5 TJ 0
Park will have had some Alex Ferguson hairbrush treatment from the coaches after Cambridge. Too much indiscipline and yellow cards plus crazy intercept try to gift the deserved win to the home side. However the mood on the team bus home will not have been too bad when they extended their lead over Cinderford by 2 points with Sale now the real form team.

Sale 5 Caldy 0
No brainer.

T 4 Plymouth 1
Another tricky call.

PS I thought I would get these predictions in before the Adelaide Test - it can't be long surely before Root scores a ton?????

Interesting comments from Park Ranger about Sale V Caldy he has just written the script for Caldy's coach in the pre match build up, perhaps that was his intention.

As we have a live stream on Friday, I should add a quick reminder - if you submit or edit your entry on Saturday, I cannot accept your prediction for Rams.

If you want to make a change, simply post a second entry - I will use that one.

Rams 2 - 2 Chinnor Chinnor with a rocket up their backside, Rams fancy themselves at home, dead rubber
Bishop's Stortford 0 - 5 Cambridge Cambridge big, chatty and backing it up at Park, Stortford's position tells you where they are at
Cinderford 0-5 Birmingham Moseley Let's assume Porter is absent, leaving a pack without a heart. Moseley have to deliver something somewhere
Leeds 5 - 0 DMP Can't see past that DMP atrocity at Albion, where they fielded a couple of Captain Pugwashs's masquerading as props. Leeds 15 best in the league, like their wingers too. Seals might kick a couple but that's your lot
Rosslyn Park 0-5 Tonbridge Juddians Tonbridge all the way. They've planned to beat all the lower clubs around them, but maybe Rosslyn will unexpectedly fall. Tonbridge desperate to keep in touch with the bottom half. Plus Park never like playing on a municipal farmyard pitch
Sale 0-5 Caldy Caldy all over this as they dislocate rugby reality like a scene from Matrix Resurrections and Sale's great start collapses in on itself. Easy win Caldy
Taunton 2-2 Plymouth Albion Love a  draw, but this result very much depends on Albion's selections at hooker and 2nd row. One slip therein and the game will be lost. Albion will maul the maul to death, coaching inertia having set in. Taunton have already outperformed expectations. There's only one team that needs to win this game. For the other it could be a Christmas cracker.

Short read this week, but will do a halfway update over Xmas with a large glass of Red one afternoon

Fri 17-Dec-2021
Rams v Chinnor  4-1 Rams seem to get up for big games and are rubbish the week or two weeks post them. This is a big game, with big crowd, live on tv, so I think they win it, but they are suffering from second season syndrome thats for sure. and maybe believing a little too much in the press after a wonderful season first time out. Chinnor as above, win big games then lose against sides they should be putting away.

Sat 18-Dec-2021

Bishop's Stortford v Cambridge 4-1 Stortford upset the form book last week and so did Cambridge for that. Park were reduced with the loss of a couple of players in the week and the 15 in the warm up, but fair play Cambridge took advantage. Just think Stortford with far more home grown players will want this derby more, it will mean more to them than the big spending neighbours

Cinderford v Birmingham Moseley  5-0 Moseley are not great and I think could end up in the bottom 3 and Cindy after the last 3 games are due to bounce back, they seem to have lost their mojo a little but a home fixture for Xmas against your old coach should tick enough boxes for a home win

Leeds Tykes v Darlington Mowden Park    1-5 DMP with Seals knocking them over look half decent the last couple of weeks. The Plymouth set back is in the rear view mirror

Rosslyn Park v Tonbridge Juddians    5-0 Now this will very much depends on what Park side they field. On paper it should be one way traffic, but Im hearing there is a bit of COVID knocking around in the Park camp, so this depends on what side is put out. Park pulled out late from the 2s fixture v Richmond last week on the Friday night, due to late of players, so this might not be a straight forward as it looks

Sale FC v Caldy     5-2 This will be close. There is nil love between these two sides, the run in, in National 2 north a few years ago put an end to that. Caldy are in a good place and could well win, but I think home advantage will count of a lot and Sale lets be honest are the form team of the league no question

Taunton v Plymouth Albion     4-1 Exeter A (with a hint on Bristol ) v Exeter A (with a hint of Cornwall)  Could go
anyway, but going with the home side again. What will be interesting is the player head count. Out of the starting  30 players in the match day squads who has the most, Taunton, Plymouth or Exeter?

Wish you all a merry xmas, stay safe and see you all in 2022!

Fortunately, the weather has been good. We have not lost many to snow.
But it Leeds or Rams miss another match, we are going into May.

I think we should plan for that anyway,
This new variant may or may not be less dangerous, but, it will still cause chaos in the short term at the very least. It only takes four/five cases to key members (or their families) for a team to be unable to take the field. We've had three cancellations this weekend because there's been what appears to be small outbreaks in three teams. We may also lose a few more fixtures early/mid January if public health experts models are even vaguely accurate. The worst case scenario is we see the season cancelled in February, or another stop start process leaving clubs without any idea what's happening week to week. Best case is, this variant is deemed to be a low level risk and we will see different guidance brought in making it easier to manage.

I know it is Christmas but the Caldy lads had a bit of a chat midweek and they decided that they were going to give Sale F all. So they will be somewhat subdued at giving Sale a losing bonus point at the end............but it is Christmas so they shouldn't feel too bad about that.
