Just caught this afternoon’s game at Ealing on YouTube. Clearly provided by England Rugby, but how do they choose which games to stream, or do they stream them all?

Apologies if this is a daft question, but I’m trying to get the hang of how it all works in The Championship.

Sorry….Champ Rugby😀

I believe all Ealing home games will be streamed on YouTube going forward but only with the half way line camera. No charge to view. The RFU provided additional cameras today and I guess that they only did this as it was the trophy presentation game.

I don't expect RFU provided Championship coverage next season.

I cannot bring myself to call it Champ Rugby.

 Thanks.
Change is hard, I’m currently trying to encourage some friends to stop talking about Saints & Baths etc.. and to take some interest in where we’ll soon be playing!

A quick Google of "Champ" throws up a seemingly endless range of champs. As well as the famous mashed potato dish, there's a champ satellite, a car (the Austin Champ), dog food, a Samsung mobile phone, a monster from an American lake and on it goes....

The name is truly embarrassing.

But I'm still champing at the bit for next season.

I’m not too worked-up either way about the ‘Champ Rugby’ rebrand. It’s a bit like ‘Allianz Stadium’ - if you don’t like that, no-one forces you to use that name, just carry on referring to ‘Twickenham’.

The key difference being that the deal for ‘Ally Pally’ brought some money into the game, something the tier 2 move has yet to deliver.

Talking of sponsorship, let’s say you’re the marketing manager of (totally random example) Fuller’s. Which would you prefer: the London Pride Champ? Or the London Pride Championship? I think the latter has a better ring to it, but others may disagree…

Ooh, nouns against verbs. I see what you did there.

There's been an uptake in games being shown on YouTube, Ealings last few games have been on there and Pirates have moved their stream onto YouTube for the last few games. I hope more clubs start doing it.

Warburtons Chomp Chomp - however, everyone I have talked to refers to Twickenham as that and The Champ as Championship

I heard a rumour that Ealing intends to do it for all games next year.

I recently gained access to the RFU minutes where they rebranded the Championship.
Chairman “what shall we call it?”
Treasurer “Champ Rugby”
Chairman “Brilliant. Now let’s go to the pub”

That is the case. Single camera on the gantry (which is rumoured to be rebuilt this summer) as for the Bedford game last month.

I hope they rebuild it to regulation height so that PRL can stop complaining about the ground being unfit for broadcast. Will keep an eye out over the summer and report back on any construction.

I believe that's the plan. The floodlight upgrade was also to meet PRL/TV requirements.
